It’s been a while since my last post….sounds like a confession. I guess it is in a way. So, I’ve been busy trying to get more content for the site. Speaking of…we just published an article by Asmb. Lloyd Levine on his bill to ban the sale of incandescent light bulbs by 2012 in California. I think it’s a great idea, here’s an excerpt:

It takes 18 seconds to change a light bulb – but that 18 seconds can make all the difference to our environment, as well as California’s energy future. The goal of the legislation is to reduce power use while simultaneously cutting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants by 1.8 million metric tons per year, which is the equivalent of taking 400,000 cars off the roads and highways.

Something as simple as switching a light bulb could dramatically reduce our dependence on foreign oil.  This is something each one of us can do today. So, next time you are at the store buy an energy efficient light bulb.

Keep the Pet Peeves and Smart Solutions coming, the Mayor seriously reads all of them and they are helping to shape/change policy. He keeps telling us to get him more Peeves. So, please keep submitting them.

I was checking out the Guardian this morning and what do you know…our top blogger and all around good guy Cliff Waldeck has received a 2007 Small Business Award. His office supply store, Waldeck’s won the Chain Store Alternative Award. Way to go Cliff!

All right, more later.

Brian
