Gavin Newsom’s 2007 campaign for Mayor is all about letting San Franciscans speak their minds to make government work better for all of us. And it’s working. We have received more than 1,500 Pet Peeves and Smart Solutions since we launched this feature on ActLocallySF.org a couple of weeks ago. I want to thank each and every one of you for submitting your ideas.
I assure you that Mayor Newsom reads every single one of your suggestions or concerns. He often starts our MeetLocally events by talking about the latest Pet Peeve or Smart Solution he’s read and what he’s doing about it. Check out the video from a recent MeetLocally in the Richmond District.
Your Pet Peeves and Smart Solutions about MUNI, homelessness, potholes, panhandling, affordable housing and hundreds of other issues, both big and small, are being heard.
One of the original Peeves on ActLocallySF.org was about the inability to buy a MUNI Fast Pass online. Guess what? That’s something that has been fixed. You can now purchase your monthly Fast Pass on the City of San Francisco’s website. Click here to learn more about this new service, which makes life just a little bit easier.
We also heard that you wanted NextBus technology extended to other MUNI lines during one of our first Pet Peeves on the Street segments. This too has happened, check it out online now. And by the fall you will be able to get an estimated arrival for any MUNI bus online.
So, help us keep San Francisco moving forward by submitting more Pet Peeves and Smart Solutions today. And we’ll keep you updated on the latest developments online and on the campaign trail.
Sincerely,
Brian Purchia
