We have had a tremendous response to an email we sent out yesterday afternoon asking people to support the Mayor’s plan to bring a community court to the Union Square area to address quality of life concerns and help make sure more homeless San Franciscans are connected to social services. Hundreds of San Franciscans signed the petition to bring the new court to the Tenderloin within minutes of the email being sent.
Many of you have written into ActLocallySF.org in support of the plan like James Ash:
Gavin is doing this right by proving it can work in one small section of the city so that the progressives will have no wind in their sail when they say he’s crazy to try and stop the rights of the homeless to deficate and shoot up daily in front of our children.
Pat Murphy from the San Francisco Sentinel, says the community court is "returning passion to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom re-election."
This new court will be modeled after Manhattan’s highly successful Midtown Community Court, which helped revitalize Times Square in the early 1990s. And we think it will do the same for a part of San Francisco that has been neglected for far too long. If you want to learn more about the proposed community court, you can watch videos and read articles about this pressing issue on ActLocallySF.org.
The time is right for change and we have the power to make it happen. Please sign the petition now. It only takes a couple seconds.
Brian
