Peeves in Progress
April 26th, 2007 12:54 pm

Gavin Newsom's 2007 campaign for Mayor is all about letting San Franciscans speak their minds to make government work better for all of us.  And it's working.  We have received more than 1,500 Pet Peeves and Smart Solutions since we launched this feature on ActLocallySF.org a couple of weeks ago.  I want to thank each and every one of you for submitting your ideas. I assure you that Mayor Newsom reads every single one of your suggestions or concerns.  He often starts our MeetLocally events by talking about the latest Pet Peeve or Smart Solution he's read and what Read This Post »

What’s going at ActLocallySF…
April 25th, 2007 9:38 am

It's been a while since my last post....sounds like a confession. I guess it is in a way. So, I've been busy trying to get more content for the site. Speaking of...we just published an article by Asmb. Lloyd Levine on his bill to ban the sale of incandescent light bulbs by 2012 in California. I think it's a great idea, here's an excerpt: It takes 18 seconds to change a light bulb – but that 18 seconds can make all the difference to our environment, as well as California’s energy future. The goal of the legislation is to reduce power Read This Post »

Smart Solutions vs. Pet Peeves
April 18th, 2007 11:39 am

I've been busy posting your suggestions for the city in the Smart Solutions Blog. We've received a lot of great ideas, so check them out and leave comments. I gotta be honest though, people have many more Peeves then Solutions. I guess that's to be expected though. All right, back to it. Brian Read This Post »

ActLocallySF 2.0
April 16th, 2007 1:14 pm

I've just finished adding the new ActLocallySF blog theme to all of the blogs. You may have noticed the new look to the Pet Peeves and Smart Solutions Blog a couple days ago. I've now added the new theme to all of the blogs on the site. The new setup allows for tags or *categories* as they call them in WordPress for individual posts. So, from now on when you write a post put a couple words in the "Categories" box on the right hand side. Make sure to press the "Add" button when your done. We've also added an Read This Post »

Goodbye Rain…
April 14th, 2007 11:46 am

Aaron and I are sitting here in the campaign headquarters getting ready for our 7th MeetLocally. We're expecting a good crowd from lower Nob Hill and Russian Hill.  I'm not sure if it can top our last MeetLocally at Bernal Bubbles. After the meeting we're heading out to do a man on the street segment with the Mayor.  The plan is to go to Clement St., Ocean Ave and the Castro.  Hopefully, the weather will hold, otherwise we're headed to the mall to shoot our second Pet Peeves on the Street.  If you see us stop and ask Gavin a Read This Post »
