Support the Community Justice Center

Innovative reforms like our Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness, Care Not Cash and Homeward Bound have helped 5,460 individuals exit homelessness.  We’ve advanced by leaps and bounds – but there is still a long way to go. An important next step is bringing a Community Justice Center to San Francisco. We need you to act locally today to make this reform a reality.    Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. We’re Moving Up in Yahoo’s Greenest City Contest

Sfist is blogging about the Yahoo Be a Better Planet Contest. From mattymatt: "How can it be true that San Francisco is less green than Pelzer, South Carolina, or Hastings, Nebraska, or Fairfax, Virginia? Those are some of the cities beating out SF in Yahoo's greenest-cities contest. But you can make a difference! We've already jumped from 168th place to 16th, and your signups can push us up even higher. Plus, you get a free light bulb out of the deal. No more stumbling around when the sun goes down!" Get a Free Energy Efficient Bulb

I want to remind you about a cool contest that is going on and an easy way to Act Locally to earn free, energy-efficient light bulbs. Yahoo! is running a contest called "Be a Better Planet" that is giving away compact fluorescent light bulb for free. If every home in America replaced just one traditional light bulb with one of these energy efficient bulbs, it would be equivalent to taking 800,000 cars off the road.
