Sutton, Fisher, and Newsom want you to sit in traffic!

The latest bad news from the bad folks that generally swarm around SFSOS want to force builders of residential projects to build MORE parking.  They also want to penalize builders who build less, even if the project is on a transit-rich corridor.  This is city planning at it's worst, in fact it's not planning, it's pure stupidity and greed, qualities that seem to be rife in Newsom's administration.

Everyone who has minimal planning knowledge knows that building more parking attracts more cars, and more cars mean more car trips, more congestion, slower transit, more dangerous streets for pedestrians and bicyclists.  It's Read more »

What’s with selective enforcement?

What does it take to get the cops to enforce the law?  While cops are busy ticketing bicycles (but not cars) who roll through intersections in the Lower Haight, two major nuicances plague the city, due to cops not enforcing the laws: Cars in the transit-only lanes, really loud motorcycles.

Gavin Wants Ed’s Head, but not yet!
June 20th, 2007

Gavin is making quite a show of demanding the head of Ed Jew, but it would surprise me if he gets it on July 10 of later.  After that date, the mayoral appointee won't face re-election this November, leaving them in office until the next election.  Watch and see if Ed gets some fat city appointment for his co-operation.  Maybe something at the airport, to shorten his commute! 

Meanwhile, the mayor continues to disregard 70% of the voters when they asked him to meet with the Board of Supervisors at their meetings, but he complains that they aren't supporting his projects.  Read more »
