I have a few ideas:
1) Deregulate the taxi cabs or issue more licenses or lower the price of licenses. There are not enough on rainy days when you need them. What good is having taxis if you can’t get one on a rainy day? Possibly issue a "rainy day only" license or add a higher base rate for rainy days to give more cabs an incentive to be on duty at those times.
2) Golden Gate Park: I’ve heard of a bunch of people who have been attacked there by drug users and homeless people. I was driving by there the other day and saw a homeless person on a bicycle flipping his lid and yelling and screaming. Please put more cops on patrol there to eliminate this problem and make the park safe for people to visit, even around or after dusk?
3) Paint clearer parking zone lines on the streets. Many of these lines have worn off, and cars often overlap the lines making driveways hard to access, etc.
4) Add about 100 cops on bicycles to just ride around patrolling where there are homeless people, etc., to make sure that they aren’t doing violent or threatening things. It is downright scary to walk by some areas where they congregate.
5) City buses that run on electric wires tend to have very loud air brakes. It would be great to reduce this noise pollution somehow, perhaps by adding some sound damping material around the source of the noise.
6) Motorcycles: What gives some people the right to drive a vehicle that produces huge amounts of noise pollution recklessly between lanes of traffic! SF should ban loud vehicles (such as motorcycles) outright and should require that motorcycles occupy the same space that a car would, preventing them from riding between lanes.
