I would like to know why it is taking the glorious city by the bay so long to get free wi-fi up and running throughout the city. I believe that Portland, Oregon was also considering at about the same time we were. Guess what? Someone I know from Portland told me they have citywide free wifi up and running throughout their city. Why can’t we get moving on this? Is this city buried in red tape? Also, downtown Portland is absolutely beautiful, with no graffiti. They also don’t have any gum or cigarette butts on the sidewalks, either. Additionally, they have free rail service within the downtown area. I think we need to learn a few lessons from Portland. Being a native San Franciscan, I love this city, but the infrastructure is terrible, potholes, etc. Let’s get the wifi up and running and stop dickering around.

Ask Supervisor Jake McGoldrick what the hold up is - oh, its him and his lunatic notions that the City has extra money to run the WiFi network themselves instead of doing a public/private effort.
