Hi,
Recently the city planted trees on 26th Street, and I was very pleased to see that happen. Unfortunately, they have died and no city employee (or anyone else for that matter) has watered, fed or taken care of this. I tried calling the number that was sent to the local neighbors (544-4336) no one ever picked up, nor was there a voicemail or even answering machine to leave a message.
What a waste of resources! I would love to see those trees thrive on my street, and I water and feed the trees that I can reach from my house. But I would love to live on a tree-lined street although I guess I am alone since my neighbors haven’t bothered with that either. I would also love to see the city come and and check on these trees to see if they can be saved or not. This would be 26th St. between Noriega and Ortega.
Thanks!
Farah

Was Friends of the Urban Forest responsible for planting the trees?
If so they replace trees that have died. I think that the trees may have died due to the frost (cold temperatures) earlier this year.
