I am a registered Democrat as well, and I believe that being AGAINST ILLEGAL immigration IS a LIBERAL view point. This is not a civil rights issue. This is not racism. I fully support increasing LEGAL immigration. But encouraging people to disrespect the laws of our country and specifically encouraging it in our city is disgusting and absolutely unacceptable. If Gavin does not change his position on this issue, I WILL NOT vote for him - no matter how many other issues I agree with him on. Amnesty for people who have broken the law is also unacceptable. Change the laws to allow more LEGAL immigration, send back the illegals and allow them to re-apply for legal citizenship. Although many people might think this is a stretch - I see this as being the same issue as Gavin allowing critical massers to have their way. The message is the same: You're allowed to break any laws you don't agree with as long as there are enough of you.
