When my son Came to SF on Cal-Train he was told that no bicycles were allowed on the light rail and he is disabled and uses his bike to transport him when he is in the city. At his home in San Jose bike holders are available on all forms of transportation. I consider this a form of discrimination to the handicapped.

The Muni vehicles are packed tight with people. There isn’t any room for bicycles.

Because of the set up of the system, there would be no way to add a bike rack to the cars. The passenger would need to be able to step in front of the car in order to access their bikes. Fine when the cars are in street mode, impossible when they are underground. So, it’s not a form of discrimination. It is just a matter of logicistics. Discrimination can only happen when the means are available and not taken advantage of.
