I am writing regarding the lack of the forestry section or whomever is responsible for cutting down overgrown trees, weeds, flowers , trash you name it and it’s there. I reported to 311 on 4/12/07 Ticket # 29041 regarding the end of Vernon St. which borders Arch St. and Brotherhood way. The overgrowth in that area has grown so much that it is now a safety and health issue. There use to be a path which leads from the foot of Vernon St. over to Arch and Brotherhood Way which several residents use in order to get to the bus stop. This over growth has created a situation where it is difficult to get through. I have notice in the past when the workers come out to trim and cut the overgrowth they consistently just do the Brotherhood Way side and maybe a little of the Arch St but not much more than that. As a taxpayer and a concerned citizen, I have reported this problem several times to 311 and it has been well documented by the customer serv! ice reps but I am not getting any answers as to when this problem will be taken care. One of my greatest fears with all this overgrowth is that children who smoke and use this area as a shortcut to the bus stop will accidentally start a fire. It is thick enough to bury a body in there.
Is anybody listening? Can I get some help? I would cut it myself but I do not have the proper equipment to do the job.
Any help you can give will be appreciated.
