I use to tell friends that the Tenderloin was an interesting place to live, and just as safe as any other neighborhood in the city. It is no longer interesting just dirty and dangerous. A late night walk now require pepper spray for protection, just in case. The "sidewalk sales" that take up the entire side of the street on Hyde between Eddy & Turk last longer then one of Macy's. On any given day you will happen upon someone defecating or urinating on or near a sidewalk.
