Tell me about it.

The police give me an attitude when I call about the homeless encampment in Hallidie Plaza. They actually tell me that they are down there telling them to move along all day every day and that they just come back. That's a straight out LIE. My apartment overlooks the plaza and the same group is down there all day every day. They aren't just "coming back" because they never even move. I see officers stroll by all the time and do nothing about it.

It's the policy of the SFPD to lie to law abiding citizens and do NOTHING. They don't do their job and no one is held accountable. They give law abiding citizens attitude when they call as if the requests to live in a clean and safe city is outrageous. I'll bet most of the police department don't even live in the city.

I submitted a post about my ordeal last night to this very pet peeves blog and it hasn't appeared. It was probably removed because of some perceived inappropriate language or something - because you know, worthless homeless drunks that contribute nothing to society have more rights than you and I, and we can't offend them!

The priorities of this city are so screwed up and the mayor doesn't care. I've heard him several times regurgitate the police department's line about not doing their job because it's not a life and death emergency. That would be easier to believe if everytime I saw police officers in the city they werne't just standing around talking and having coffee - often with illegal activity happening right in front of them.

Vote for anyone but Newsom unless he gets the message and puts the SFPD in line.

For what it's worth, I wonder how many of those "life and death" emergencies could be prevented if there weren't hundreds of drunk, high, mentally impaired people just hanging out on our streets.

THIS IS A LIFE OR DEATH/ PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE.

It is the policy of the San Francisco Police department to LIE to citizens and not do their job. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

Overall Rating: 10
