I guess it was inevitable despite our efforts to keep the bums out of our neighborhood, there is one now regularly sleeping in front of our building. I called the Police General Dispatch and got a self-righteous little jerk (Dispatcher 80, I believe) who began to lecture me that homelessness is not a crime. Yeah, like I was calling because the person is homeless. No, I was calling because the person trashes the front of our building and uses the back for a toilet. But that didn’t matter to this dispatcher as he was well versed in the lies-designed-to-shame-critics crafted by the "homeless advocates" - you know, how you can only be a nasty, cold-hearted SOB for not wanting drunks to use your home for a toilet.
And today there is another article in the paper about the way drunks and junkies have ruined Golden Gate Park, complete with a picture of a filthy bum camp, along with the name of the person who maintains the camp and who shows no reluctance or fear about admitting it or that he is one of the people leaving needles all over the park. Why should he? There’ll be no consequences. Why is that camp there? It IS illegal to camp in the park, yet we read that the police have to urge people to leave, or ask them or persuade them.
I keep thinking about the day that I can finally leave this hole, knowing, of course, that no one will care. The only people really welcome here are drunks and junkies, discourteous and dangerous bicyclists, and rude and lazy Muni employees.
I will support the Mayor for one more election, at least, since he is the only one I hear even trying to do anything about this mess. Unfortunately, it’s going to take more than just him, I’m afraid.

No wonder the middle class is leaving the City in droves. All we have left are trust fund babies and the syncophants who serve them. How would you like your latte, sir?
