Last evening about 6:00 in the daylight there were two shootings on Larkin, some say three people were killed, drug deals gone bad the word was. There seem to be as many if not more drug dealers as there were 4 years ago. Not only is this bad for the community it also is a sad situation for the families of the individuals who were killed. I live on Larkin, a very diverse street. This is a major street the continuation on 9th Street and a community of families and businesses. Drugs and homelessness are a big problem in the Tenderloin. People live here for different reasons. Cheap rent is a common denominator. Perhaps someone could be brought in who is experienced dealing with gang issues and who would inspire others to lessen the desire to follow the gang path which could lead to less distribution of drugs and therefore less of an available market of drugs for those who need to buy them.
