The number of drivers running red lights! The number of pedestrians jaywalking! Both incidents affect me daily. Cars going through lights well after the light has changed and people walking across intersections long after the light has changed or even when it’s glaring red or not even crossing at an intersection or crosswalk! The budget for DPT could be doubled it seems if these laws were actually being enforced!

Yet something else the SFPD doens’t care about. Just yesterday I saw a car run a red light, almost get into an accident, and almost run over 5 or 6 pedestrians going east on Ofarrell at Stockton.
There were two SFPD officers standing on the corner of Stockton/Ofarrell with cups of coffee chatting. Apparently the pedestrians screaming at the driver for their lives and the cross traffic laying on their horns didn’t get their attention… they didn’t even look.
Someone could’ve been KILLED.
I was in my car further back on Ofarrell at the red light. As soon as the light went through another cycle and the light turned green I went to make a right turn onto Stockton from the second turn lane. The idiot in the first turn lane went straight, and almost hit me. Laying on my horn, our mirrors touched, then he continued straight anyway through the intersection.
The police officers didn’t even MOVE.
I see instances of near misses from pedestrians who don’t know what they’re doing and drivers and bicyclists who don’t know what they’re doing DAILY. I see one incident happen within view of police officers probably once weekly. THEY DO NOTHING.
The SFPD complains about a lack of officers, yet everytime I do see an officer, they’re having a conversation. Quite often, I’m able to spot illegal activity happening within their and my view and they do NOTHING.
If I see all this and it isn’t even my job, why are police officers getting paid the ridiculous salaries they get in SF?
