This is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard! If you want to live a car-centric suburban lifestyle, there are plenty of places that offer that. Cities should be responsibly built, dense, public-transit centric. I realize MUNI needs major improvement, but adding parking, and ENCOURAGING driving is the complete opposite of what we should do. We should charge tolls to cars entering the city, even residents, increase parking rates at garages and meters, charge MORE to allow in large vehicles like SUVs and ban tour busses from city streets. All money from tolls and parking should go DIRECTLY to MUNI improvement. I say all this as someone who lives downtown, owns a car, and pays a lot of money to park it here. Although I use the car only for trips outside of the city, and I walk and take public transit in the city, I would be affected by the things I propose. I'm ok with that because it's the right thing to do. If you or I want to have a car in the city, we should have to pay for that privelege and luxury. Why don't you try living responsibly or just move to Walnut Creek, Mr. Robert Howard 2883 Folsom Street.

Overall Rating: 1
