Dear Mr. Mayor:
311 is great, they take my reports. Too bad the job tickets they write fall into a black hole of unresponsive, do nothing city departments who fail miserably to actually get the work completed.
I’m am specifically speaking of either the City Sign Shop or the DPT. There are two eye level Street Cleaning signs on either side of Alabama Street near 20th Street that vandals have ripped out of the frame and stolen. I’ve called this into 311 at least 4 times over 4 months and the signs have yet to be replaced.
I called you office, spoke to one of your assistants, who, like you, give great "lip service" but was very short on real action.
He promised to investigate the situation and call me back. Of course, he never bothered.
I’m glad you got everyone’s resignation letter. You should accept a lot of them. I’d start by accepting resignations from those officials who tired to defy your order and believe they have lifetime appointments.
