Has anybody done a thorough review of whether or not they benefit our local economy or if, in fact, they are a drain on local business. I propose we let them leave. Let’s create instead an inter-urban league of sports teams - our city boosters cannot argue that a truly local sports team would not benefit the image of the city and capture the intangible benefits of having a local team. We shouldn’t bend over backward to keep a sport cartel satiated and glutted on public tax benefits.
