I’m really hoping that you can find a way to deal with the homeless this new term. I know it has baffled everyone, but we have the filthiest city in the country. And it’s because of the homeless.
I took a friend out to see Sweeney Todd on Oct 2nd, and Union Square was filled with crazy drug addled homeless people on the streets. 4 per block wanted money. Some guy who just had his heroin hit was falling down in the middle of the street. My husband said, "Must be the top of the month—he just got his check."
If anyone comes to visit this city—they get a run down obstacle course of people that don’t want to belong to the system—These homeless want to be wasted on some kind of drug and panhandle and defecate on the street.
My husband says they have a right to chose not to participate in the system. I don’t agree. I work REALLY hard for my money and I work hard to follow the rules of courtesy, taxes and good citizenship.
Why do those that disrespect order and decency get to run the show? San Francisco looks terrible. They don’t care because they just have to get another fix of some sort and those that work need to give them money so that they can get it. This is terrible.
If they don’t want to participate in society, then why are they here in San Francisco? You see, they have to have the society to keep their disrespectful choices going. But I don’t want to step over them, I don’t want to give them money. They need to be processed and either get treatment, or be sent back to their families.
It’s not ok anymore.
Thanks Gavin,
and good luck this next term.
