I'm forced to walk through unsafe areas at night because I can't park where I live! I find that I can't park within a one-block radius around where I live because the parking permit R is required. Since I do not have it yet, I am forced to park my car near the projects on Laguna & Turk and risk my life walking home every night. Because of my work, some late nights are unavoidable. I am a small, young female and I felt really unsafe walking home last night when several drunk and lewd people attempted to accost me. Read This Post »

Today I took the T line from 20th and 3rd to the Embarcadero BART station. I caught a 6:38 train. There was a 30 minute gap in between the train I caught and the next train. It makes it really difficult to transition to commuting on the T Line when the train runs so infrequently during commute hours.

I have lived at the corner of Bartlett and Cesar Chavez for 3 years. Every day, 10-15 men sit on the corner, litter, get drunk, sell drugs, and urinate.
The Board of Supervisors almost did not approve a development across the street which has been abandoned for over 1 year.
The DPW comes by and routinely picks up couches, chairs, and miscellaneous trash when called. They do a terrific job but my pet peeve is;
Why does San Francisco never address the cause and spend so much money addressing the result? I know it is political but downtown and high profile (Golden Gate Read This Post »

As a proud resident of the Marina I take great joy in seeing a multitude of International visitors flocking and supporting our beautiful city.
Recently there have been the removal of the unsightly garbage tips and in their place a few garbage receptors doted along the Marina Green.
The pet peeve comes from the garbage is not collected enough to accommodate the sheer volume of trash from the residents, visitors and the numerous limos and buses having a quick bite to eat and then tossing their trash, KFC, Safeway and the likes into full bins.
This is a veritable buffet for the Read This Post »

Why are we letting Bevan Dufty turn a pot club into a city landmark - when the only reason is to protect the pot club from having to be wheelchair accessible. That makes no sense at all.

Mayor Newsom,
Your townhall meetings (and this section of your campaign website) are full of MUNI horror stories and pleas to fix the system. No doubt, you are aware of the problem. As someone who wants to leave my car at home and commute to work via MUNI and arrive on-time, I'm interested in solutions--specifically your ideas about
how to fix this system.
I moved to Cole Valley less than a year ago and try to ride the N Line downtown and back everyday.
As one of the busiest stops (and growing) on the N Line, the service levels are unacceptable and make Read This Post »

Can something be done about the timing of the traffic lights at Mississippi/7th/16th Street? Driving from Mississippi onto 7th, the green light is so short that only 3 or 4 cars can get through before it turns red again. In the evening, this means that traffic is often backed up for multiple cycles of the light. Could this green light be made a little longer, or the one allowing traffic down 16th a little shorter? I realize it's a complicated intersection, with three distinct streets and a Caltrain crossing... but that brings me to another point about this light, that Read This Post »

The homeless are citizens and have rights like everybody. But, like the rest of us, the homeless should act responsibly and respect our laws. There is no excuse whatsover to throw needles in children's sandboxes, endangering our children. Golden Gate Park is a PUBLIC park for everybody, not the private campsite for the homeless. The truth of the matter is there are resources out there where the homeless CAN receive help if they only CHOOSE to receive help. The people of San Francisco should no longer put up with all this nonsense.

On Saturday I took our 2 year old twins to South Park. Unfortunately, nothing has changed, so we left after 15 minutes.
Two guys were sitting on the bench by the climbing structures, drinking 40 ounce beers. Another collection of homeless/ vagrants at the 3rd street end of the park- shopping carts, etc double parked into the street.
No sun because the trees are still overgrown. Slide has hole in it...etc, etc, etc.
Hopefully South Park is on the list for renovation under the new Bond issue......

My pet peeve is writing to the Mayor's office a few times about the drugs and homeless situation along the Powell/Market street area and getting no response at all. As of right now, Mr. Newsom does NOT have my vote.

I just want to applaud Newsom, Dufty, and Fong for the wonderful leadership being shown with the handling of the Castro Halloween party.
I mean seriously, what's better than the people who are supposed to lead and be in control saying "we can't handle our responsibilities, so we're just not going to this year".
Wonderful.
I mean, yes, it's true that the Police department can't handle their responsibilities any other day of the year, and yet Heather Fong still has a job for some reason. The SFPD can't even recruit officers despite the ridiculously high pay. The officers they do Read This Post »

I live in the Tenderloin. What are you going to do about open drug sales on O'Farrell & Jones. Everybody talks nobody accomplishes anything.

The number of drivers running red lights! The number of pedestrians jaywalking! Both incidents affect me daily. Cars going through lights well after the light has changed and people walking across intersections long after the light has changed or even when it's glaring red or not even crossing at an intersection or crosswalk! The budget for DPT could be doubled it seems if these laws were actually being enforced!

It seems as though the escalators at the BART stations are never working, especially in the Mission. Are they designed to break down every other week?!

Just because you are homeless does not give you the right to break the law buying and selling drugs on the street, doing drugs in front of families and children and especially tourists and lastly to clog our city subways, doorsteps and business entryways as sleeping quarters, panhandling spots and freak show theaters.
If this were New York or any other sensible city, the police, and general public would be outraged and would ask them to leave the premises sending them to a shelter or get tougher and tell them to get out of the city. Some homeless are truly in Read This Post »

What if everyone one in the morning commute decided they didn't want to pay toll and just drove through the toll gates without paying? What if everyone decided they didn't want to pay to get into AT&T park and thousands of people hopped the rails to get in? I'm sure the mayor would be outraged. Yet, Mayor Newsome continues to draw no outrage to Critical Mass which is nearing its 15 year anniversary.
I have no issues with bike riders wanting to protest for their cause. I do take issue with their disregard for the law. If a mass of people Read This Post »
