Shootings in the Mission
July 24th, 2007 9:38 am

Please help clean this neighborhood up.There has been 3 shooting(that I know of) in the past 2 weeks. The parking lot next to my home is over run by crack heads & hookers. I don't know if you know that this area has become a really "hip" place to live. There are more law a bidding people with money in this area. It can only make San Francisco better. There needs to be more security camera's placed in the area.It is a cheap way to create safety in the community. Thank you, Stacy Read This Posty »

Homeless connected to OUR social services
May 8th, 2007 2:13 pm

I would prefer that our homeless were less connected to our social services and more connected to the services of the States from which they came. You are only encouraging more and more homeless from other areas of the country to come here with the thoughtful and considerate work you are doing for them. When does it end? We now have 6 homeless encampments on our block (Alabama St bet. Mariposa and 17th Sts.) and the police are afraid to do anything about it for fear that they may be sued by the counsel that represents them. Meanwhile, our children Read This Posty »

Ban the Blue Angels
April 23rd, 2007 6:55 pm

I would be quite happy if the Blue Angels were banned from San Francisco. I work on Church and 17th, and it's already noisy enough with the Church Street Muni passing by my storefront. They waste tons of fuel and money, and scare animals, domestic and wild. Thank Uou, Michele Read This Posty »

My pet peeve: Turning in front of buses
April 3rd, 2007 1:46 pm

I recently relocated to SF from Chicago, where making a turn in front of a bus is illegal. That is, you cannot go around a stopped bus to make a right-hand turn. This serves two purposes: 1. Improved safety for passengers exiting the bus. When a bus stops before a green light, the passengers may leave and start crossing the street in the direction the bus was going. Anxious drivers try to make a mostly-blind right turn around the bus and may run into pedestrians. 2. Faster buses. Preventing turns in front of buses reduces the time buses spend waiting for cars Read This Posty »

17th St high speed traffic
April 1st, 2007 5:30 pm

The high speed traffic on 17th Street, between Roosevelt and Ord.  Since the 'earthquake' of '79 traffic has been routed via our 25MPH neighborhood street(s).  The traffic has been clocked as going anywhere between 35 and 60 MPH, consistently.  We have had several 'neighborhood meetings' with our then Supervisor Leno and folks from Parking-Traffic and the SFPD.  We were told that nothing could be done because the city needed the street(s) of 17th Street as a traffic egress.  The SFPD also said that it was legal for traffic to travel at the speed of up to 45MPH (again, it is Read This Posty »

COPS NOT WORKING!
April 1st, 2007 3:26 pm

On several occasions I have been at an intersection - at the same time as a cop car (sometimes two cars) - when cars run the red light or stop sign, AND THE COP(s) DO NOTHING! Also the JAY WALKING pedestrians at the following intersections - while the cops are busy harassing the homeless just sitting (NOT PAN HANDLING) on the side walk near by: Market/Castro/17th Street Castro/18th Street Rod Marchetta Read This Posty »
