My pet peeve is MUNI. There are still NO MUNI SCHEDULES PRINTED & WIDELY DISTRIBUTED. I called 311 three times yesterday while waiting for the #12 bus. Each time they flat out lied to me. I was told they were using GPS to track the bus but they had no clue. One of the operators said they don't print bus schedules because of budget cuts and I can get "accurate" information about arrival times by using up my mobile minutes to keep calling her. She was also the same lady who assured me the bus was five blocks away even Read This Posty »

Living on a block where parking is not enforced even though the only reason it isn't is because I live on a steep hill. Having to call the 311 at least once a week to report cars that haven't moved in two weeks to one month. Questioning whether or not it's worth paying for my annual "A" permit since the parking isn't enforced where I often park anyway. Thanks for listening...

Dear Mr. Mayor:
311 is great, they take my reports. Too bad the job tickets they write fall into a black hole of unresponsive, do nothing city departments who fail miserably to actually get the work completed.
I'm am specifically speaking of either the City Sign Shop or the DPT. There are two eye level Street Cleaning signs on either side of Alabama Street near 20th Street that vandals have ripped out of the frame and stolen. I've called this into 311 at least 4 times over 4 months and the signs have yet to be replaced.
I called you office, spoke Read This Posty »

I ordered a $50 Parking Meter card a month ago and it has not arrived. I called 311 (Thanks Gavin) and got through to Didi at 11 S Van Ness. I explained that I had ordered a card, and before I finished my sentence she said “And it hasn’t arrived has it?” She continued “I’m not the first, and won’t be the last”
I now have to go to her office and sign an affidavit to get a replacement.
So, where are all of these cards going? And how many are getting Lost, Misplaced or Stolen?

Has not been done for several months, supposedly because of irrigation problems--they lied--the timer switch was not turned on because of budget problems at the end of this fiscal year--
It is disgusting out here--I called 311 and they said they had had no complaints so I told the neighbors and dog walkers out here to call and be sure to get a tracking #...several have called and gotten tracking #'s--my best guess is that everyone is busy now downtown at the game...BUT every electrician or person who knows how to set the timer???
can you do something...
Thanks

The 311 system is great for reporting and talking to a real person, however they don't seem to produce much results this is the 3rd week in a row with no street cleaning on lucky alley folks don't even move their cars cause no meter maids either.

This morning I tried the "Tried and True" -- 673-muni -- it sent me over to 311. It took more than ten minutes to get the information I needed. Really disgusting. On "673" the response to my simple question would have been instant. "If I get on the N-Judah at the end of the line, will it take me to AT&T Park directly without any changes?" Another example of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Supposedly our mayor is making public appearances all over town to take questions from citizens in lieu of appearing before the Board of Supervisors. All well and good in intent.
So, I click on your Calendar link on this web site and guess what? There is no calendar of Gavin's appearances for these public forums.
For a candidate who claims he wants debate and input, how about getting an accurate calendar online?
And BTW, even though I think Gavin is not doing everything he should. For example, what good does it do to call 311 and report graffiti on city signs if Read This Posty »

At one time the city provided Graffiti Remover free of charge to residents willing to remove graffiti from their neighborhood. I understand from 311 that this program has been discontinued due to the cost. The most important factor in limiting graffiti is to remove it as soon as possible -- both for ease of removal and also for reducing the amount of re-occurrence. My husband removes graffiti from several blocks in our neighborhood. I would like to see the city provide graffiti remover at no cost so he and others like him can continue this good work.

I am writing regarding the lack of the forestry section or whomever is responsible for cutting down overgrown trees, weeds, flowers , trash you name it and it's there. I reported to 311 on 4/12/07 Ticket # 29041 regarding the end of Vernon St. which borders Arch St. and Brotherhood way. The overgrowth in that area has grown so much that it is now a safety and health issue. There use to be a path which leads from the foot of Vernon St. over to Arch and Brotherhood Way which several residents use in order to get to the bus Read This Posty »
