Last Friday, in the Dolores Park area (one of the most gentrified in the city), I saw one police car per block - that is, police cars everywhere. I wish I'd see a similar deployment in the Bayview. There was a shooting right in front of my house a couple of weeks ago, and I don't see more police cars after that.

My pet peeve is the drug dealing in the Bayview community, the drug addicts and their stealing and robbing people and the T train. We are coming to realize the T train is not the benefit we were told it was going to be. Parking is terrible, the traffic lights don't hold long enough on the cross streets (there is not enough time to walk across or drive across 3rd before the light turns red on you) and the distances between left turns off of 3rd street are few and far between. I would like to see more police cars Read This Posty »

i would like this communication avenue re-named because this issue is not a "pet peeve" and many of the issues posted here do not fall under the lighthearted, commical category of a "pet peeve"...in any cse, please shut-down the lennar project in the shipyard until the people in the community are tested and the actual promised safety issues are appropriately "watch dogged"...it would have been such a wonderful thing to have had the navy hold onto the property and held them to cleaning it up before it was sold to lennar...thanks for listening...

Mayor:
I am not an advocate for what you call marriage equality (gay marriage). I am not an advocate of the Bay to Breakers Race on Sunday mornings blocking traffic. Please consider having it on Saturdays instead. I am not an advocate for the uncontrollable Halloween Party in the Castro District. I am not an advocate of the Critical Mass (bicyclist) blocking traffic the last Friday of each month.
I do however appreciate what you are attempting to do with your other projects of establishing WiFi in the city, Universal Health Care, Getting Muni on time, Services to the Bayview and Hunter's Read This Posty »

All the construction that's going on in the Bayview area without regard to the local, in particular the children's, health. Dangerous and deadly byproducts from digging and construction by a particular grade school are causing children to have respiratory problems among other life threatening health problems. WHAT IS GOING TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS? Is the "beautification" of a neighborhood really worth the lives of children?

My pet peeve is crime. I live in Potrero and sometimes things get ugly. Transients think it's okay to live in their cars and use the sidewalks as their toilets. People are constantly dumping their trash in my neighborhood. Cars being broken into is routine. I once saw a guy pull an AK-47 out of the trunk of a Mercedes by the projects. And every once in a while, someone gets shot.
I'd very much like this to stop. I'd like a zero tolerance approach toward violence be taken. Bulldoze the projects at the top of the hill. I don't Read This Posty »

I work in the bayview and right now my pet peeve is all the money that has been wasted on this beautification thingie. Unfortunately the people down here do not appreciate it. A lot of the "beautiful" things those dollars went to were destroyed long before the lightrail even began running. The money would have been better spent by keeping the design basic, and simple. AND paying people who care the responsibility to keep it clean and taken care of.
Also what's with all this beeping at the crosswalks? It is annoying. And when you're actually crossing with a signal Read This Posty »

Your Honor,
I find the new service, Muni T line, an inefficient means of commuting within the Bayview District and Downtown. I have used this service this week - only for the train operators to usher passengers off the train numerous times, and return to the downtown Muni Metro Stations.
I was on a tiny platform--in a crowd of tired commuters, the elderly and children to wait for multiple 1- car T trains during Monday's commute.
Please inquire as to why there were so few trains working an area that has a high percentage of home owners - during rush hour. It Read This Posty »

The inner & outer Sunset access to Caltrain is now severely limited. The T line runs too infrequently, J runs to Caltrain only in the early morning. Did MUNI actually discuss these route changes with the core riders? The T line will be convenient for Bayview residents, but this new line has definitely decreased the attractiveness of public transportation for me, an N commuter.

Now that the Bayview has the third street light rail, what can be done to spruce up the Mission Miracle Mile?

I feel that we should have a curfew for teens from 12-18, because it would cut down after hours crime. You have a lot of unsupervised teens out in the Bayview district anywhere from 10:00 to 4:00 am.

My pet peeve is the fact that the city has not gotten a handle on the 49ers situation. From what I've seen and heard, the stadium is in horrible shape, and is in dire need of repair. Now I don't know the specifics, but the 49ers are a vital part of our community. Are you going to allow them to move to Santa Clara? That would be the first team in sports history to move into a small community. They are asking for help and we are not giving it to them. And that goes for everything in Bayview.
