I have always been a supporter of the Blue Angels and fleet week being here in San Francisco. However, since my attendance this weekend I have completely changed my opinion.
I attended the show with my niece and nephew, my nephew being 11 years old. They had never been to the show and I thought it would be enjoyable for them to see the Blue Angels. We had a great day together but I was infuriated by the fact that twice, sailors had come up to my nephew and handed him a recruitment brochure. The brochure actually stated "For ages 11

Yesterday (Thurs) afternoon, I was startled, frightened and reduced to tears - thrown back to lower Manhattan on 9/11/01. Besides the noise and danger, this is a waste of resources when the American public is being asked to conserve. Just awful.

I would like to see future Blue Angels shows (and practice) over residential areas of San Francisco cancelled. As someone who suffers from a hearing ailment, my concern is health related. I suffer a great deal of discomfort (and possible long term effects) whenever I am exposed to their noise. Why can't they practice and perform away from residential areas?

I have endorsed you for mayor. That will change if you vote to stop the Blue Angels performance. I am a SF homeowner who does NOT appreciate the national view that we in SF are not patriotic because of the weird votes of some of our PC addictive supervisors. We lost the angels once because of the above - and a whole lot of people were upset - perhaps someone should check out the LARGE number of residents who appreciate the show versus the small number, but big mouthed, anti-whatever minority.
Thanks for the chance to get this said!

Maybe we should recall Daly. It would be a good start. I live in the downtown area. Too many crack dealers. This city has gotten worse. We need to recall politicians that are not doing their job. As Donald Trump would say " You're fired". Too many liberal special interest groups are putting a chokehold on the police. I thought the police were apathetic and don't care. But, that is not the case. Certain politicians are not allowing the police to do their job. I say fire the politicians and give the police more power. It is time to clean

As a resident of the Outer Sunset, and a full-time worker in the Presidio in San Francisco, I'd like to voice my support for the annual airshow display during FleetWeek that has included the Blue Angels for many years. I consider this a fascinating show for me and my family, and look forward attending each year. I've told my Uncle from Arizona about it, and he's thinking of coming up to see it, which represents the large number of visitors who come to the city directly because of FleetWeek and indirectly because of the Airshow.
I read with dismay Supervisor Daly's

Allowing the Blue Angels to perform anywhere near our city. They represent military power and violence. We need to send a message to the military that we do not support such displays of power. We need to display images of peace.

I would be quite happy if the Blue Angels were banned from San Francisco. I work on Church and 17th, and it's already noisy enough with the Church Street Muni passing by my storefront. They waste tons of fuel and money, and scare animals, domestic and wild.
Thank Uou,
Michele

We have long worried about the risks of the Blue Angles airshow each year. They are impressive to watch, but what will happen in SF if a Blue One went down in 1999 and now another one, luckily in a rural area. Their long term history of accidents is impressively bad. Our son-in-law is in the Air Force and flies on an AWAC so we're loyal and love our fliers, but also quite aware of the disaterous risks involved in in the type of flying that is involved in what the Blue Angels are doing. Every year we are thankful

We use plastic bags from stores as garbage bags and trash bags. We also use them to carry things. We never allow them to become litter. If the proposed ordinance takes effect, we will either have to shop at smaller stores, which often charge higher prices, or we will have to buy commercial garbage bags at the store. I do not believe that a commercial garbage bag is any better for the environment than a plastic bag. They just cost more. Paper bags are not a satisfactory substitute because they break too easily. I hope that you will veto the
