The Board of Supervisors and North Beach
January 27th, 2008 3:08 pm

Could there be a more selfish neighborhood in SF (maybe all of the country)?  No yogurt!  No late night pizza!  No new housing!  No!!! No!!! No more alcohol!!!!  No street fair!!! What a joke.  There is a crime, murder, homeless, trash, MUNI, housing, etc. problem in town.  If these spoiled and selfish clowns looked around for once and focused even a quarter of that energy they waste on killing businesses and entertainment in this TOWN maybe we would actually be progressing and solving some problems here in SF. Homeless advocates blocking enforcement of laws
November 29th, 2007 9:26 am

After C. W. Nevius's article in the Chronicle about the homeless advocates once again mobilizing to block enforcement of laws on living in the Park, I officially give up all hope that the "homeless" problem will ever end. So it's goodbye Main Public Library, goodbye Golden Gate Park, goodbye a major stretch of Market Street (from Powell to Octavia), goodbye to much of Van Ness, goodbye Civic Center. All of these areas are no longer for the majority of the population. They are for the homeless to do whatever they please in. I would just remind people of the photographs Read This Posty »

Illegal Aliens Granted IDs
November 26th, 2007 9:30 am

I'm disappointed that the Mayor and City Council voted to give "undocumented immigrants" i.e. illegal aliens an ID card. And by the way calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant"is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist. Both are against the law. Illegals should be deported back to their country of birth. That is where they're citizens. As a USA citizen I don't have the option of obeying only the laws I agree with. Neither should the San Francisco Council or Mayor. Let the San Francisco Council and Mayor enter Mexico or any other country illegally and see what Read This Posty »

Goofy Ultra Left Wing is Growing in SF
October 29th, 2007 11:01 am

It is the attitude and non-action of the mayor and supervisors that allow the most outrageous acts to go on without blinking an eye. I think if it continues, anyone with a brain will move out of the City. Why stay and pay for those that don't legally belong here, don't want to get a job, don't want to go to a shelter, don't want to obey laws, don't want to allow the police to do their job, etc. Why Mr. Mayor??????? Conflict between branches of government
October 26th, 2007 8:27 am

I work at City Hall on a volunteer basis and I see the inner workings of that place up close and personal.  The Supervisors are the enemy of the Mayor's office and vice versa.  Those two political camps will do anything to embarrass each other with little concern for the consequences to the city's residents.  A case in point being our parking shortfall versus the condition of Muni.  The Board ceaselessly pushes their transit first policy in the face of our dysfunctional public transit system precisely because it highlights the managerial incompetence of the administrative arm of City government. There is Read This Posty »

Crying in the wilderness
October 25th, 2007 1:09 pm

Usually I am for Gavin Newsom.  I am very upset that Ron Dudum is ignored as a replacement for District 4 supervisor.  I am one of many voices that seem to be crying in the wilderness.  No matter how much I and others write are remarks are ignored - are we not rich enough in District 4? Before he was ever Mayor I admired Gavin Newsom
October 18th, 2007 7:54 am

Now I am quite upset that Ron Dudum was not made interim Supervisor of Dist. 4. He almost won the vote - what happened to the runner-up system?  Why do we have it?  I have personally written to him, e-mailed to him - and have not received the courtesy of a reply (not even from a minion).  He is buddy buddy when you agree with him, otherwise SF voters are nothing anymore unless you are high toned rich. Drug Dealing on Julian Ave.
October 11th, 2007 7:49 am

I'm a big fan.  Thanks for so much.  My problem is the drug dealing and using outside my house on Julian Avenue and outside my back gate on Caledonia alley, both off 16th between Mission and Valencia.  Dealers and users and homeless abound.  Please give the victims services and arrest the dealers.  They ride in on BART, wear distinctive jackets (mostly 49ers), have bicycles, and work the alleys around the BART station.  They are very obvious, at least to me.  The needles, piss, and worse are a daily issue.  Chris Daly has ignored our pleas.  Keep up the good work Read This Posty »

Not Impressed with Free Health Care
October 10th, 2007 12:07 pm

Dear Mayor Newsom:   I would like to inform you that I am not at all impressed with your plan to give all uninsured residents in San Francisco free health care.  I am a seventy one (71) year old woman who has lived in San Francisco for sixty five (65) years.  I own a home in District 7 which I have to maintain.  I retired from the Federal Government in 1991 after 36 1/2 years of service.  I live on a fixed income and receive approximately a 2.9% Cost of Living Increase (COLA) each year.  $157.00 is taken out of my Read This Posty »

Bluegrass Festival and several other events every year in Golden Gate Park
October 10th, 2007 7:53 am

Every year those of us living on Fulton St. have nowhere to park for three days.  This is becoming a major inconvenience... I work at SFGH on the weekends, get up at 5:00 a.m. and come home at 4:00; cars are parked bumper-to-bumper for blocks as well as the traffic along Fulton St. There is nowhere to park until 8:00 p.m., so no way to return home until then.  Bringing this to Supervisor McGoldrick's attention last year did zilch as a response, and it was ignored.  MOVE THE CONCERTS, EVENTS, ETC. TO ANOTHER PART OF THE PARK and have some Read This Posty »

BoS Talk Show Resolution
October 4th, 2007 7:22 am

Why is the board of Supervisors and Gerardo Sandoval in particular wasting time with resolutions condemning what radio talk show hosts have to say? Just because someone doesn't agree with your political view they should be condemned? The host is question has railed against illegal immigration, not immigrants it total. One could argue that someone who supports illegal immigration should be condemned themselves for being treasonous. I personally do not hold that view, but that is the flip side of the coin to Mr. Sandoval's position. Let's please encourage politicians to work for resolutions that have some tangible positive affect Read This Posty »

Safety, schools and infrastructure should be first
September 21st, 2007 9:31 am

Dear Mayor Newsom:   While I generally agree with your policies and I am endorsing you for mayor, I completely disagree with your universal health care proposal.  As a tax payer in San Francisco, I believe this is misuse of our tax dollars.  I specifically oppose extending universal health care to people who are here illegally.  Once again, hard working, tax paying, home owning citizens of San Francisco are footing the bill for another city sponsored subsidy program.  I'll get behind these kinds of programs after the city fixes the roads, hires more police officers, fixes the schools, and upgrades the Read This Posty »

A bit to the right of the morons on the BoS is a plus
September 21st, 2007 9:25 am

I support the Mayor but not some of his proposals. If he was a bit more to the right, I would be a big supporter. However, being a bit to the right of the morons on the Board of Supervisors is a plus. Unfortunately, the sanctuary city and immigration policy that he and good old SF has adopted has turned me off. I was born at Children's Hospital in 1944 - What a different city now! I must say "those were the good old days." Jerry Read This Posty »

The Mission is a garbage dump
August 28th, 2007 7:17 am

I have lived at the corner of Bartlett and Cesar Chavez for 3 years.  Every day, 10-15 men sit on the corner, litter, get drunk, sell drugs, and urinate. The Board of Supervisors almost did not approve a development across the street which has been abandoned for over 1 year. The DPW comes by and routinely picks up couches, chairs, and miscellaneous trash when called.  They do a terrific job but my pet peeve is; Why does San Francisco never address the cause and spend so much money addressing the result?  I know it is political but downtown and high profile (Golden Gate Read This Posty »

Pot Club Landmark
August 27th, 2007 1:14 pm

Why are we letting Bevan Dufty turn a pot club into a city landmark - when the only reason is to protect the pot club from having to be wheelchair accessible. That makes no sense at all. Fed Up in SF Read This Posty »

Crime in Western Addition
July 20th, 2007 9:46 am

Mayor Newsom: We've heard from friends of a few recent cases of armed robbery in and near our neighborhood, which was surprising. While we only have a couple of datapoints, we wondered if this is happening more than previously. I happened to be talking today to a policewoman who covers a different beat, but she mentioned a number of patrol cars previously stationed in our area have been dedicated to the Western Addition at the instruction of our neighborhood supervisor. She suggested that there was an increase in crime in our area and she indicated this patrol Read This Posty »
