What bothers me is that San Francisco is a beautiful place to live but it has it disappointments like dirt street, homeless people laying around by ATM machines and crime is going up. There needs to more strict rules that when there are offenders who violate the law they need to be punish. The reason why cirme is so high is because violators have a comfort zone here in San Francisco where they are allow to get away with it. We need to start cracking down and get with the program. Hiring more policemen is a start but we need

The SFPD giving permission to certain businesses to install and maintain promotional mini-billboards on public property all of which violate local, state and federal codes. The problem with this is that neither the police nor business owners are above the law Right? We all support our police, however we do not support anyone circumventing the law. The job of public officials is to protect and enhance the public right-a-way for all residents, visitors and workers by regulating its use through the rule of law. Surely it is not representing particular special interests or giving away our community property rights Right?

My Pet Peeves:
MUNI
How can MUNI propose to look for additional revenue when they aren't even collecting fares for many of the people that ride the bus every day? And why do so many of the buses stop at nearly every block? Take a lesson from CalTrain and eliminate stops to make service faster.
Homeless
The mentally ill and drug abusers among the homeless have gone beyond their 'choice' and 'right' to live on the streets of SF. They need mandatory treatment rather than the option. I see the same homeless people in the same locations year after year. Get

I am a San Francisco resident and the co-founder of a management consulting firm. My company is growing rapidly and is soon going to be moving to a new office. We would like to stay in San Francisco, but the cost of leasing an office in the city is rising out of control. It's likely that we will be forced to re-locate outside of San Francisco. This city's boom-and-bust cycle in commercial rents causes severe problems both for businesses and for property owners, both when rents are mushrooming and when they are crashing. Does Gavin Newsom see this as an

Thanks for allowing us a voice to some of the problems we face in SF. First I want to say, in my opinion you are doing a great job. If there weren't so many people trying to put you down, just let you get on with what you are trying to do, which is not an easy task. One of the concerns I have is the lack of cooperation of business owners, keeping their areas clean. Business owners should be required to keep their areas clean. They don't seem to do that on Irving st. starting on 5th Ave all

I love going to dinner in the city, but won't take friends and family due to the aggressive and threatening pan handlers. The city business and owners and customers are all suffering, something needs to be done, are you the Mayor to make San Francisco the great city it could be? I hope so!

Our business is on 615 Sansome street and we have to deal with graffiti removal almost on a daily basis. We also have to clean the sidewalk constantly of the food (and other human!) leftovers in front of the store.

This city has a tremendous problem that continues to plague its residents and visitors alike, and that is the aggressive panhandling that occurs around Union Square. Guests in our city compare it with visiting a third world country! If San Francisco wants to continue to attract tourist dollars, this issue must be addressed. As a Union Square merchant, I've tried contacting the mayor's office, but to no avail. I have also spoken with the police department about having foot patrol in the area, but they say there is not enough funding. I hear constant complaints from visitors to our city,
