How about getting the cracks in city streets fixed
October 12th, 2007 9:05 am

A crack, hole, or rise in the surface of our streets of less than an inch or greater may sound like small potatoes to you, but try traveling between California and Market streets (including the sidewalks) in a standard or power wheelchair. It can be a jarring experience, not to mention the wear and tear on the chair. If you think I'm kidding, you are welcome to try the trip yourself. Just borrow a chair and do it. As a matter of fact, I am more than willing to let you borrow my powerchair.   Also, what Read This Posty »

Tenderloin Getting Worse and Worse
July 8th, 2007 6:08 pm

Homeless pissing and shi@ing, on public streets and sidewalks within the realm of 7th, jones, post, to market and california streets,  known as the tenderloin. The city needs to stop being so giving to the homeless, because the problem is getting worse and worse every year.  There are professionals living in the tenderloin too, lets not forget.  Problem 2 drug selling on 7th and market its every where there, and i have yet to walk by and not notice a deal. WE NEED MORE UNDERCOVER COPS AND STINGS ON THAT CORNER!!!! Name Withheld Read This Posty »

The cross walk at 3700 California (Commonwealth) is unmarked
June 14th, 2007 9:09 am

It is in front of CPMC-California Campus which is for pregnant women and children.  Nobody ever stops to let people use the crosswalk, including (and especially!) the MUNI drivers.  A bright sign and cone in the middle of the street and on either side might shame some folks into following the law before there is a tragedy.  Carrie Haverty Read This Posty »

SFPD needs to be overhauled
April 18th, 2007 11:20 am

I have had a chance to check out the debate.  I think you are dodging the issues.  The SFPD needs to be overhauled, for real this time - once and for all.  Rather than making racist videos, stealing leftovers from people on the sidewalk, or covering up crimes committed by their favorites (Baker's Dozen-gate), the SFPD needs to concentrate on the appalling murder rate that is now plaguing SF.   In general, SF is seedy and run down.  The streets are filthy.  Muni needs improvement.  And my daily walk - esp. Drumm Street between California and Sacramento - is a shame Read This Posty »

Sleeping on the street
April 6th, 2007 6:10 am

Mayor Newsom, I live on California Street, between Leavenworth and Jones.  My shopping area includes the Cala store at Hyde, Walgreens on Polk, and many coffee shops and small business's on Polk Street.   Every day I encounter at least 3 men sleeping on the sidewalk.  They are filthy and they sure don't look healthy.  I have some questions:   1.  Why do we have to allow them in my neighborhood, but not yours?   2. With all the social activism on the Board of Supervisors, why aren't these most pathetic men given better care?   3. Is it really an important civil right for them to be Read This Posty »

ADD CAMERAS TO CALIFORNIA ST. CROSSWALKS
April 1st, 2007 5:23 pm

The City needs to add cameras in more crosswalks of the cable car routes. Cars fail to cease for boarding and unboarding passengers day after day. Also, I have seen a man die on Nob Hill's California St because of a red-light incident. ADD CAMERAS TO CALIFORNIA ST. CROSSWALKS. A. Q. Read This Posty »

Potholes
April 1st, 2007 4:51 pm

This is more than a peeve. This is an injury. Driving on California St. from Park Presidio to Arguello, the road is deeply pocked. The taxi I was in hit one of the deep holes, which threw the car. I lost my chiropractic adjustment I had just had in preparation for surgery at the hospital at Arguello, and was unable to have the surgery I needed. And because of that loss, I misses the timeliness for the surgery and my life is now in danger due to a tumor. If people are going to be able to use the hospital Read This Posty »

Signal at California and Octavia…Watch for Homeless
March 29th, 2007 6:48 am

I regret missing the mayor's town meetings.  I have two pet peeves.  I live on California and Octavia and for the last two years the neighborhood have been waiting for a signal at the corner of Octavia & Cal.  Why is it taking so long?  It is a dangerous corner for my children and me when we cross to go to the park.  Also, why do the police spend so much time watching the park for dogs without licenses, instead of moving the homeless out of the bushes?
