I understand that much of the paper we put in the blue recycling bins gets shipped (via polluting freighter) to China for reprocessing (in coal-powered plants) into cardboard boxes used to contain consumer goods that are shipped back to the U.S. Maybe the net impact of our paper recycling is worse for the world environment.  Why don't we have a domestic green business solution for this? I am afraid we might be fooling ourselves when we recycle our paper. San Francisco could take the lead on this matter, as it does for several environmental issues.
