Hi,
Recently the city planted trees on 26th Street, and I was very pleased to see that happen. Unfortunately, they have died and no city employee (or anyone else for that matter) has watered, fed or taken care of this. I tried calling the number that was sent to the local neighbors (544-4336) no one ever picked up, nor was there a voicemail or even answering machine to leave a message.
What a waste of resources! I would love to see those trees thrive on my street, and I water and feed the trees that I can reach from my house.

The library seems to implement changes more rapidly, and more importantly their communication with the rest of the city seems more effectiveóperhaps because it is two-way communication not the one-way communication that seems to dominate our government. This communication has and will continue to result in a library system we can all be proud of.

My pet peeve, at the moment and for the past 3 days, is that I sent you guys another pet peeve which implied that the hiring process in the city is rotten and you didn't print it. I see the same issues over and over again on your site; dog leash/poop, pot holes, parking, muni. Those problems are visible and tangible. I'm trying to bring to light one of the problems you can't see coming a mile away. Just about any city employee, and I know quite a few, will tell you that every agency, from the DPT to the Recreation and Parks

Mayor Newsom,
I called the streets dept in early February about a large dump of trash that buried the fire hydrant outside my business, it covered the sidewalk and half of the street. I was told it would be cleaned up. Two weeks later is was not cleaned up and I called again, this time I was given a number, (I can't locate it at the moment but I'm sure you can look it up unless my calls are just thrown out) I called again two weeks later to no avail. It has now been almost two months and my street

I live directly across the street from a basketball and tennis court. When I first moved here, excited about the prospect of getting a little exercise after work, I trotted down with a basketball to find that the gate was locked. Oh well, maybe I came too late, so I'll try again tomorrow, I thought. Turns out that the gate is always locked at night even though the park is technically open until 10 p.m. The lights are on and I see people playing, which means that they are consistently hopping the fence. I eventually tried this and enjoyed playing

Dear Sirs,
My pet peeve in this city is agencies that do not follow through. I have a neighbor who runs a business next door and he is not very law abiding. Here are some of the examples.
1) He is providing massage services without a license. I reported this to the health department, but two years later, nothing has changed.
2) He installed a cash machine on the street without a permit. I reported this to the proper city department, but 1.5 years later, nothing has changed.
3) He is illegally providing space to two businesses in a residential apartment. This was reported

San Francisco has a myriad of problems, and potential…no one, to my knowledge, is looking at underlying organizational/structural concerns, as follows:
1) SF uses an accounting system (FAMIS) that, I believe, is only in use in two polities – ours and Ft. Lauderdale. What is needed is an integrated accounting/payroll/personnel data base system that will allow and enable managers to go back and forth between related data. Our current system is one of add-ons, a ‘kludge’ that is neither easy to use, and prohibits efficiency and economy of scale. Additionally, the care and feeding of this ‘beast’ requires resources and personnel
