After C. W. Nevius's article in the Chronicle about the homeless advocates once again mobilizing to block enforcement of laws on living in the Park, I officially give up all hope that the "homeless" problem will ever end. So it's goodbye Main Public Library, goodbye Golden Gate Park, goodbye a major stretch of Market Street (from Powell to Octavia), goodbye to much of Van Ness, goodbye Civic Center. All of these areas are no longer for the majority of the population. They are for the homeless to do whatever they please in.
I would just remind people of the photographs Read This Posty »

My letter to Supervisor Dufty (as yet unacknowledged)
February 19, 2007
Mr. Dufty:
After 8 years in this once beautiful city, my partner and I are beginning the search for a home in Marin and leaving the once beloved Castro. Please tell Chris Daly, Aaron Peskin, Jake McGoldrick and the rest of the fractionalized self-centered Board of Supervisors that they win and SF is theirs.
From the big annoyances like Critical Mass and NO ONES ability or balls to stand up to the arrogant bicycle coalition to the growing homeless camp on 16th Street, across from our once beautiful little street (Pond), to Read This Posty »

San Francisco has a lot going for it, but it lacks some things that would make the city run a lot more smoothly.
1. GAVIN NEWSOM THRUWAY. Living near Franklin, Gough and Van Ness makes for dangerous lives. Each day thousands of motorists try to get through the city and are forced on city streets to get there. They speed down Franklin and frequently run red lights. If there is an event going on near the Civic center, it's really dangerous for pedestrians. It also creates a jam in the middle of the city which dissuades people from coming to the Read This Posty »

1. Vandalism. Last year or two it has become untolerable. Walk down almost any major street in the morning and see how much broken glass there is on the sidewalk. Civic Center is high on my list of the worst. Even the "good" neighborhoods are not safe. SF is not the liveable city it used to be.
2. Aggressive homeless behavior. While the number of panhandlers appears to have decreased those still out there are getting more aggressive and confrontational, especially around Civic Center. Can we have a hotline to report such behavior? It's not a 911 call but it Read This Posty »

For example, when I go to the Civic Center farmer's market, homeless men follow me around and hit on me. They don't do this to men because when I go to the market with my neighbor Chuck, believe me the homeless men don't even look at me.
When I walk down the street and pass Dolores Park, unless it is a weekend and the park is packed, the homeless men think it's fine to try and chat me up. These are men with no power in society, but they can have power over women by being sexist assholes.
