Wasting water
October 25th, 2007 1:14 pm

There is a street hose bid in front of One Geary that has been leaking for years.  I have reported it to DPW more than once and it still leaks.  There is always water running into the gutter. Bertle Campbell-Ward Read This Posty »

Trees Violating City Fire Code
October 15th, 2007 7:48 am

The city does not maintain or trim its city owned tress in the 1900 to 2400 block of Hyde, or any other block for that matter.  When you complain to DPW, nothing happens. Tress are overgrown and dangerous and tearing up sidewalks. Worst of all they grow up into fire escapes, violating city fire code, by blocking egress.  I guarantee you nothing will be done because I wrote this. Name Withheld Read This Posty »

Leaves left behind
October 2nd, 2007 9:53 am

When street cleaning along the panhandle, the sweepers will sometimes leave a 1/2 car sized pile of leaves behind.  Ben Mullin Read This Posty »

The Mission is a garbage dump
August 28th, 2007 7:17 am

I have lived at the corner of Bartlett and Cesar Chavez for 3 years.  Every day, 10-15 men sit on the corner, litter, get drunk, sell drugs, and urinate. The Board of Supervisors almost did not approve a development across the street which has been abandoned for over 1 year. The DPW comes by and routinely picks up couches, chairs, and miscellaneous trash when called.  They do a terrific job but my pet peeve is; Why does San Francisco never address the cause and spend so much money addressing the result?  I know it is political but downtown and high profile (Golden Gate Read This Posty »

Pandering to Poverty Pimps
July 23rd, 2007 8:00 am

Where to begin... The beggars plying their trade in this city are not "homeless" and it would be nice if I could go to the store w/out constantly being accosted!  We need laws enforced for the benefit of taxpaying citizens, so firing the incompetent token of a police chief would be a good start.  And btw, Polk street from Union on down is a sewer.  Aren't there laws on the books about keeping the front of businesses CLEAN?   The DPW is MIA in SF.  Enough pandering to poverty pimps and bums and throwing good $ away on gangs who respond to Read This Posty »

311 System
May 16th, 2007 7:32 am

I am writing regarding the lack of the forestry section or whomever is responsible for cutting down overgrown trees, weeds, flowers , trash you name it and it's there. I reported to 311 on 4/12/07 Ticket # 29041 regarding the end of Vernon St. which borders Arch St. and Brotherhood way.  The overgrowth in that area has grown so much that it is now a safety and health issue.  There use to be a path which leads from the foot of Vernon St. over to Arch and Brotherhood Way which several residents use in order to get to the bus Read This Posty »

Balboa Street Restructuring
May 1st, 2007 10:43 am

I live in the outer Richmond District. Recently, there are funds available to "re-do" the neighborhood. The area under discussion would run from approximately 34th and Balboa to 40th Avenue and Balboa. Along this strip, there are 2 bus lines, contact from 4 schools-Lafayette Grammar, G Washington, Presidio Middle School and St Thomas Apostle, numerous small businesses and a movie theater.   I am all for a renovation of the area. However, the way that the meetings were held, when they where held and the decisions that were made are cause for concern.   The meetings were held and renovations were discussed. Plans were Read This Posty »

Division and 13th streets between Van Ness and Bryant
April 10th, 2007 2:16 pm

There is a serious lack of repaving that is desperately needed below the elevated freeway.  I reported this problem to the Mayor and DPW months ago.  The response I received was that this was a Caltrans maintained road.  According to Caltrans this is a city street.  When is this slated for repaving, it has been in decrepit condition for the 10 years I have lived in this city! The location is Division and 13th streets between Van Ness and Bryant. Please do something more than fill the potholes.  the pavement is dangerous for pedestrian, bicycles and vehicles. SOMA Homeless
April 1st, 2007 4:40 pm

Having to walk to and from work every day up the middle of my SOMA street because both sidewalks are either blocked by homeless encampments or have fresh human excrement and/or vomit on them.  It's disgusting.  We constantly call Southern Station and/or DPW and nothing is ever done.  Also, the moronic tagging of everything - even the new palm trees at Howard and 6th Street.  And the corner stores who sell cheap liquor in brown paper bags, who just add to the homeless problem, by encouraging them to get drunk and often abusive.  I can't wait for 6th Street to Read This Posty »
