Mr. Mayor,
I hope that you or one of your trusted staff can spare a little time to address an issue that affects most residents in the city. A growing percentage of motorcycle riders that live in or frequent our beautiful city have, with malicious intent, installed straight pipes or non-baffled exhaust systems. Loud mufflers seem to be more about boosting egos, setting off car alarms, and scarring our children as they sleep - than promoting safety with the moronic belief that “Loud pipes save lives”. All of us I think are entitled to a reasonable level of quiet and

My pet peeve: Cars making right turns on red onto Franklin St. (where I live). Many drivers simply pull into the crosswalk without looking to see if anyone is there, in order to look left down Franklin--both I and my partner have both almost been hit, and he saw a woman hit in the crosswalk. Given the volume of traffic on Franklin during rush hours, the ability to MAKE a right turn on red is pretty much nil then. I would recommend banning right turns on red on intersections with Franklin, at least during rush hours.
Thanks!

San Francisco has a lot going for it, but it lacks some things that would make the city run a lot more smoothly.
1. GAVIN NEWSOM THRUWAY. Living near Franklin, Gough and Van Ness makes for dangerous lives. Each day thousands of motorists try to get through the city and are forced on city streets to get there. They speed down Franklin and frequently run red lights. If there is an event going on near the Civic center, it's really dangerous for pedestrians. It also creates a jam in the middle of the city which dissuades people from coming to the
