I have been a very big Newsom fan for years, but your support of "sanctuary" for people who enter the country illegally has greatly reduced my admiration. Approving a proposed ID card for illegal aliens would seal the deal. My views aren't motivated in the slightest by racism or any other kind of group bigotry. There's nothing discriminatory about a country having and enforcing standard immigration laws and limits. And arguably your support for illegal immigration demeans your courageous positions on issues like gay civil rights - which addresses bigotry based on who someone inherently is, as opposed to activities

It seems that just about every decision made by your administration is geared towards either making SF not only Gay accepting, but proves to the world that if you are Gay (bi, trans, etc) that SF is the place for you. I don't think that Gay discrimination is the right thing to do, by SF has a lot to offer to straight people too, doesn't it? Why does the current administration have to drive home the message that SF is for Gays. This sounds like a hateful comment, but from my standpoint, it I am just looking for a little

Mayor:
I am not an advocate for what you call marriage equality (gay marriage). I am not an advocate of the Bay to Breakers Race on Sunday mornings blocking traffic. Please consider having it on Saturdays instead. I am not an advocate for the uncontrollable Halloween Party in the Castro District. I am not an advocate of the Critical Mass (bicyclist) blocking traffic the last Friday of each month.
I do however appreciate what you are attempting to do with your other projects of establishing WiFi in the city, Universal Health Care, Getting Muni on time, Services to the Bayview and Hunter's

Tell Jake McGoldrick to take personal responsibility and help out his district. I wasn't impress with you or him Mr. Mayor when you came to Presidio middle school You fudge over my answers. You tried to take a demanding opposition but I don't see any improvements. I liked you when you fought for gay marriage, but now it's put on the backburner. Was it just to get the gay community in SF to back you up?

Mr. Newsom,
Sir, I live in the Tenderloin. Do I really have to explain the problems down here to you? We ask for more of a police presence and nothing happens. The killings over the weekend points up the fact that nothing is being done to curb crime down here.
I remember Diane Feinstein saying she was going to "clean up the Tenderloin" when she was mayor. We are still waiting. I wrote Willie Brown when he was mayor. We are still waiting.
How is it Rudy Giuliani can clean up New York, but San Francisco can't or won't do

The definition of "marriage" in Webster's dictionary is a union between a man and a woman. Call the union between gays or lesbians a partnership forever, a union forever, or whatever else, but don't call it "marriage."

I just went to actlocallysf.org and was appalled at some of the things Gavin Newsom thinks should be a priority for this city. Since when did having more cabs and free wireless trump the poor performance of MUNI, the huge increase in homeless, and an increase in crime in San Francisco?
What kind of fantasy world does Gavin Newsom live in? We know he wasn't paying much attention to the city when he suggested making MUNI free and got caught partying and dating too much. Glad to hear he is "in rehab" but after looking at the Web page, Gavin is
