The city does not maintain or trim its city owned tress in the 1900 to 2400 block of Hyde, or any other block for that matter.  When you complain to DPW, nothing happens. Tress are overgrown and dangerous and tearing up sidewalks. The southwest corner of Geary and Hyde, which is an open air crack market and smoking den.  I have lived here 10 years and only seen cops walk this beat once.  The problem is obvious to all, but no one does anything about it.  When I try to chase them off, my physical safety is threatened. Why can't the Mayor do something about the drug dealers that hang out day and night on Larkin St between Golden Gate and Geary St in the TL. The also "Hide" on Hyde St between the same place. They seem to center at Geary and Hyde day and night. The people of this part of town feel that they have a right to walk down these streets with out having to walk thru a drug deal. There is a guy that lives in his van right out in front of my house. Homeless people pull up with there shopping carts and do drugs with the owner of this van. This van takes up two parking spaces (where parking is limited) and does not move for days and his garbage is thrown about outside of his van. I want to know why this guy can live out in the front of my house and can do as he wishes? I have called the police uncountable times and they can't seem to get these guy out of here!!!!! The 500 block in particular. What has HAPPENED to this street lately? I've lived here for only a year but I've only seen it get progressively worse. Heavy drug use and sales, trash, graffiti, homeless setting up camp on the street, etc. I've recently called the police on 3 separate occasions while witnessing illegal activity, and each time, after waiting for more than 45 minutes for them to arrive, I just gave up, thinking that somehow these problems aren't a priority for the SFPD any longer. South of market on 8th there are 4 lanes, north of Market there are 3, plus a lane created from grove st. kind of converging in. People coming down Hyde st. should have lanes clearly marked as they cross Market St. Right now it's very confusing... or maybe it's just me. Name Withheld Read This Posty »
