No street cleaning on Leavenworth between Washington and Jackson. The street is so dirty and trash everywhere. Sad. Why is there no cleaning?

For 16 years, I have lived on Geary Street, between Jones and Leavenworth, and until recently, I have loved this neighborhood for its "local color," its convenience, its steady flow of visitors from around the country and the rest of the world, its excellent restaurants and galleries and theatres, etc. But in the last 3 or 4 years, the neighborhood has steadily deteriorated. To put it bluntly... it seems that the hookers and pimps and drug dealers/buyers and other assorted derelicts have marched steadily north from the Tenderloin, thus making Geary Street from Leavenworth to downtown just as dirty and

My block alone has had 4 different construction projects in the last 3 years - one of which is going on its second year. The lost parking spaces, the mud, dust, and noise diminish our quality of life. Is any thought given to how many construction permits and related parking permits are given out in a certain area? Also, how about checking to see if the work is completed in a timely fashion? Leavenworth between Sacramento and Clay has two buildings with incomplete facades that are eyesores. I work in the design industry so I understand and appreciate construction, but

Mayor Newsom,
I live on California Street, between Leavenworth and Jones. My shopping area includes the Cala store at Hyde, Walgreens on Polk, and many coffee shops and small business's on Polk Street.
Every day I encounter at least 3 men sleeping on the sidewalk. They are filthy and they sure don't look healthy. I have some questions:
1. Why do we have to allow them in my neighborhood, but not yours?
2. With all the social activism on the Board of Supervisors, why aren't these most pathetic men given better care?
3. Is it really an important civil right for them to be
