As I write this (just after 5AM) they are collecting garbage on Taylor Street at Bush.  They had a pretty good track record of collecting after 6AM for several months after I complained this past summer.  At that time they had been collecting as early as 3:30AM.  I can't imagine that they release trucks that early in the morning to make runs, but I guess they do.  Does anyone else in Nob Hill find this annoying?  Does anyone else have this problem in their neighborhood?  Brandon Guzman Read This Posty »

I'm sick and tired of walking home from BART to my Nob Hill apartment thought the filth and dirt of this city. I spent two months in NY City this summer and was amazed at how clean it was compared to SF. I plan on moving  as I am tired of nothing being done about this problem. My block alone has had 4 different construction projects in the last 3 years - one of which is going on its second year. The lost parking spaces, the mud, dust, and noise diminish our quality of life. Is any thought given to how many construction permits and related parking permits are given out in a certain area? Also, how about checking to see if the work is completed in a timely fashion? Leavenworth between Sacramento and Clay has two buildings with incomplete facades that are eyesores. The dog (maybe even human) feces all over the sidewalks, especially in the Nob Hill area. It's disgusting to see how many people let their pets defecate in the MIDDLE of the sidewalk; it's like an obstacle course just walking to the corner. We need to enforce people picking up after their dogs, or even better, create grassy areas on the edges of sidewalks so they can do their business. I love the work you've done for SF, and I will always vote for you.  In the next SF Mayoral election, in the 2010 California Gubernatorial race, and when you run for the White House in 2012 or 2016.   I am a white, middle-class (for SF standards), gay, 40 year old male (we have the same birthday 10/14), and 17-year SF innercity resident.   My issue: when is that do-nothing, loud-mouth, out-of-touch, recipient-of-nepotism-that's-how-I-got-my-job, I've-only-seen-him-on-the-street-in-his-district-once-on-the-night-before-the-last-election supervisor Chris Daly going to do something about getting some foot patrols and traffic enforcement on Nob Hill.  I've lived in the district a little over a Read This Posty »
