I take the 48 Quintara bus from Noe Valley down to the Mission everyday. No matter what time of day (except weekends, of course, you can never depend on the 48 on a weekend), I have no problem catching a nice, clear air 48 from my Noe Valley neighborhood. But on any given day, at 24th street and Mission, I have to wait up to one full hour to get a returning 48Quintara to take me back up the hill. More often than not, I just end up walking from Mission to the top of Noe Valley. This sucks when Read This Posty »

Cab drivers (with truck drivers) used to be THE BEST drivers on the road.
Tonight, between the Market Street Safeway and my home, different Yellow Cab drivers made 2 illegal U-turns and ran 3 Stop signs! Seriously, I am talking about five (5!) different cabs with different drivers! And I cannot begin to tell you how many F-U's I get after I have to slam on the brakes because I'm in their way! I have many friends visiting from Manhattan or New Jersey who are completely appalled.
I am also a frequent traveler, and I have stopped using any type of cab Read This Posty »

This is more than just a pet peeve. The city has become so crime-ridden the streets -- even in previously safe neighborhoods like Noe Valley and the Castro -- are seriously unsafe. The buses and subways are overrun with criminal elements, and I invite you to try to walk from, say Zuni to to 4th Street after 6 pm -- wait, don't, unless you have an armed guard. I've lived here for 27 years and the quality of life has spiralled downhill in the last few years, especially since Willie Brown was in office. Do something!

He then tried to convert the cottage to business use. The Planning and Appeals board turned him down. He now illegally rents it out to two businesses including the Noe Valley Improvement District. I've reported this to Planning and the Building department. 6 months later there is still no action.
This is government working?

The main street of Bernal Hghts is like driving over a mine field. Mission from Cortland to Army is the same. Cortland is especially bad from the S.F. Library to Old Bayshore.
Streets in Noe Valley have been repaved--some twice--while none have been touched in this area in 25years.
On the bright side Mission from Cortland outbound was repaired during your watch. I just assumed this area didn't count.
Thanks for your attention.

Parking, it is extremely frustrating to come home during the week and find no parking available, except for blocks away from our home.
This problem has increase with the recent expansion of the Z parking zone in Noe Valley.
I would like to see this residential parking zone expanded to include the area adjacent to east side of Mission Street From Randall to Valencia.

I have a great antipathy towards the news helicopters that are roaming our City’s air space – they sound very militaristic, and am particularly puzzled why there does not seem to be a particular minimum elevation that they need to be required to respect.
Today (Cinco de Mayo) there were a couple of helicopters flying so low over Noe Valley that any attempt at a conversation was made impossible. There is absolutely no need for them to be flying so low since they are equipped with high-strength lenses and zooming capabilities. Unless there is a dire emergency, there is no need Read This Posty »

This really is a pet peeve. For-profit "dog walkers" should be regulated by the City and the City should be patrolling dog runs and other areas for-profit "dog walkers" use to ensure such businesses are legitimate, and that the ration of dogs to human is one in which the dogs can actually be under the control of the profiteer (no greater than 4 dogs under the control of one human seems reasonable). Dog walking businesses use the City's parks, open spaces and dog runs as part of their businesses. Frequently, throughout most days the Walter Haas Park dog run is Read This Posty »
