Noise - I understand that there are certain services that need to be taken care of, and that collecting the garbage and recycling in our city is an important service.  What bothers me, is that I pay an obscene amount of money to live in this wonderful city, and yet - every morning before 6:00 am I'm awaken by the sound of the garbage collectors.  Why do they have to drive down my alley that early in the morning?  Is there not a noise ordinance?  There comes a point when it just doesn't seem fair.  I realize the garbage collectors Read This Posty »

I jog on Pacific Avenue every morning.  For at least the past four months, the home on 2712 Pacific Avenue between Scott and Divisidero has been undergoing construction.  Because the driveway, sidewalk and street right in front of this home are constantly blocked due to all of the construction work, I have to run out around all of it out in the street, facing onoming traffic.  Needless to say, the construction creating a dangerous scenario for pedestrians and joggers.  Aren't there laws in our city for creating safe passageways for pedestrians when a home is undergoing construction? When driving north on Columbus, the traffic light on the intersection of Columbus Ave/Kearny St/Pacific Ave is angled so that it takes effort to figure out if the green is for Kearny or Columbus.  I've seen a few people run the red light due to confusion.  This corner needs a new streetlight or at least covers over the light so as not to confuse drivers.  Thanks for reading.
