PARKING! I live in the Excelsior (16yrs) and it's difficult to find parking on the street, especially after 5pm. I've counted a few addresses that have 3 or 4 vehicles and also, they can't park in their garage because: (a) all or part of garage converted to apt; and/or (b) can't accommodate a large truck. Some folks take up two parking spaces because they are reserving space for their other vehicles. For safety if I come home late I have to park in my driveway (my garage is used for storage) and big chance I'll get a $100 ticket. Sometimes Read This Posty »

I don't know if this really get to gavin, but anyways i would like to ask him y can't he do something about the hotels in SF using the white zones to rent for a limo company who rents it for individuals to use to steal the taxi business and other limo company's business that they spend alot of money on advertising to get it.
also what ever happened to equal opportunity rights in this city?.
When a hotel permits one limo company to use the white zone for that purpose then other limo company's can not compete unless they wanted to Read This Posty »

I am incredibly disappointed that Gavin came out publicly AGAINST Prop H! We need more parking and the transit first policy is not realistic for a really livable city. As a homeowner with a family and no garage it is incredibly difficult - try going shopping for the week with 5 bags of groceries a stroller w/ 2 year old on muni.
There is a lot of talk about trying to keep families from moving out of the City ... further restricting parking doesn't help.

I often spend as much time driving around looking for parking as I do driving to my destination. If people could drive straight to a parking garage near where they are going it would cut pollution in half. Not to mention make it a lot less frustrating to live or visit SF, and enhance local businesses near the garages.

Parking. Outside my condo starting at 6 p.m. (when the meters are off duty) I watch the valet parking attendants take up all the available street parking - usually all gone by 6:30. The valet is charging between $10 - $30 to park the car - why should they be stealing the citizens free parking?

This is a pet pee! Homeless folks constantly sleep, pee and defecate in front of our office on Howard Street near 2nd. Between high taxes, the parking shortage, rampant graffiti, illegal posters and flyer trash, street potholes and the stench of human waste, It makes running a business in SF extremely unpleasant.

I work at City Hall on a volunteer basis and I see the inner workings of that place up close and personal. The Supervisors are the enemy of the Mayor's office and vice versa. Those two political camps will do anything to embarrass each other with little concern for the consequences to the city's residents. A case in point being our parking shortfall versus the condition of Muni. The Board ceaselessly pushes their transit first policy in the face of our dysfunctional public transit system precisely because it highlights the managerial incompetence of the administrative arm of City government.

Living on a block where parking is not enforced even though the only reason it isn't is because I live on a steep hill. Having to call the 311 at least once a week to report cars that haven't moved in two weeks to one month. Questioning whether or not it's worth paying for my annual "A" permit since the parking isn't enforced where I often park anyway. Thanks for listening...

Professionals living in such a great city as San Francisco have the right to be able to commute to and from work in a dignified manner using public transportation! Instead, as a rule (not exception), we are sandwiched in on the bus, often with drunks, drug addicts and REEKING homeless people. We need more frequent buses (I ride the 38 line), we need drivers to be accountable for not showing up to work, and please tell the drivers not to let stinky homeless people on. Forget fairness and treating everyone with respect - it is utterly unfair to force everyone Read This Posty »

Visitacion Valley is undergoing a rejuvenation and revitalization which The Mayor is totally behind. As a longtime resident it is disturbing to see how newbie neighbors are PARKING ON THE SIDEWALKS AND IN FRONT OF THEIR HOMES which unless the law has changed, is illegal. It's unsightly and brings the neighborhood down! PLEASE address this issue!

City workers parking their personal cars in the roundabout at the West Portal tunnel entrance- a very dangerous situation when an emergency develops in the tunnel.

I just don't understand why, when I park in my own driveway to unload groceries to feed my family, the DPT gives me a $100 ticket. these tickets for parking in our driveways are a huge burden for hard working San Franciscans who are just trying to live our lives. Can't mayor newsome help us by stopping this practice of the DPT? Nobody seriously thinks parking in your own driveway is a crime, this is just a way to get money from people who don't have enough money to start with.

Pet Peeve #1
AGING WATER SYSTEM in the city college area (Edna & Judson). These pipes are over 80 years old and made of cast iron? We have pressure but, NO FLOW/VOLUME. I have more FLOW when I urinate and you should SEE the rust and gunk that are in MY in house filter!

Every year those of us living on Fulton St. have nowhere to park for three days. This is becoming a major inconvenience... I work at SFGH on the weekends, get up at 5:00 a.m. and come home at 4:00; cars are parked bumper-to-bumper for blocks as well as the
traffic along Fulton St. There is nowhere to park until 8:00 p.m., so no way to return home until then.
Bringing this to Supervisor McGoldrick's attention last year did zilch as a response, and it was ignored. MOVE THE CONCERTS, EVENTS, ETC. TO ANOTHER PART OF THE PARK and have some Read This Posty »

The only ones benefiting are the towing companies. Fine folks who park there...that should be deterrent enough and the city would get the funds. Towing actually makes matters worse, as the tow trucks block an ADDITIONAL lane causing massive backups as traffic merges.

Or create an account for folks that they can be credited. I missed a refund on a recent item and DPT had 'gobbled' it up! It is ILLEGAL!

DPT are frequently inappropriate in remarks and attitudes. Also, some ticketing appears to be intended to fill a quota. I have noted that many un-metered parking areas are ticketed without first assuring that the actual time is over the limit. Complaining to DPT does nothing.

In the Marina, especially on Chestnut St., it's a huge problem; there are a few that allow regular parking after 1pm Mon-Fri and after 11am on Sat. - but there should be more of them!

DPT officers ticketing parked cars for being over the time limit but passing by all the traffic-slowing double parkers. Cut down on double parkers, cut down on traffic congestion.

I just got home after trying to get into my driveway for more than five minutes. Eighth Avenue has become a superhighway. I've lived here for thirty years and at this point, with Sixth and Tenth Avenues no longer going into the park, two bus lines, and the upcoming Safeway trucks when the store is completed, living here has become noisy, stressful and unfair. How could the City have done this to one poor block of residents. Shame on the city planners who allowed this to develop over the years. I didn't buy a house on Geary. Enough already. Alas, Read This Posty »
