I have lived at the corner of 18th Street and Dolores for almost 9 years. I have three children, and we love having Dolores Park so close by. These days there are approximately 10,000 people in Dolores Park every weekend. On weekends where there are special events, like Opera performances, Symphony performances, Mime Troop shows, that number can double or triple. I love all the activity in the park! BUT! There is not now, nor has there ever been, a pedestrian crossing signal at the corner of 18th and Dolores. We thought it would be installed as part of the

Every day, dog owners feel entitled to toilet their 120,000+ unlicensed dogs on every public and private spot they pass. There's nothing as revolting as seeing some dog shoot a stream of toxic green urine on someone's begonias or in a green grassy spot where you want to recreate. Then there's the noise: one barking dog is worse than 10 car alarms, and can be heard for blocks. On Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 2 pm, the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department Commission is considering increases to the public park permit fee schedule that could make San Francisco's parks inaccessible to its community groups and grassroots organizations. This action would raise non-profit park permit fees to thousands of dollars, making park access out of the reach of many non-profit groups. Do we want our parks to be available only to corporate interests and the rich? Trees: Plant more trees; require every home and apartment to have at least one street tree
Illegal units: Crack down on illegal units; fine the owners; prevent residential use of units that are not up-to-code
