Tenderloin Getting Worse and Worse
July 8th, 2007 6:08 pm

Homeless pissing and shi@ing, on public streets and sidewalks within the realm of 7th, jones, post, to market and california streets,  known as the tenderloin. The city needs to stop being so giving to the homeless, because the problem is getting worse and worse every year.  There are professionals living in the tenderloin too, lets not forget.  Problem 2 drug selling on 7th and market its every where there, and i have yet to walk by and not notice a deal. WE NEED MORE UNDERCOVER COPS AND STINGS ON THAT CORNER!!!! Name Withheld Read This Posty »

First to the Board of Supervisors: Are you reading this blog?
June 15th, 2007 7:40 am

Do you see what you have let this once beautiful city become? Do you see the fury that people are beginning to feel about what you have let happen? Some of you have been on the board for almost as long as homelessness has been a problem. And what I remember is that all you could come up with was to fight any real attempt to fix this problem. Consider Daly right now trying to take money away from the community court idea, not because he actually believes in anything or has any plan of his own, but just to put Read This Posty »

Complete lack of homeless outreach
June 11th, 2007 9:00 am

I work on the corner of Kearny and Market Sts. I don't need to tell any one that this general area is in great flux. The new Westfield Mall and the construction of the new Ritz-Carlton are starkly contrasted by the ever-growing number of homeless people on these few blocks. The homeless have been pushed out of the shopping area of Westfield, but have only moved down a block, concentrating their numbers right where I work. On a daily basis I see  public urination of defacation, passive and aggressive panhandling, and homeless people just camping out on Market St. I Read This Posty »

Dog droppings on Union St. and Cow Hollow
June 5th, 2007 7:34 am

People do not pick up after their dogs.  I see dropping all around the neighborhood. People who party sometimes can't hold down their liquor so sometimes I see vomit on the street (once right on my front steps).  And tipped over garbage containers and news stands, flowers pulled out of their containers. Filthy Financial District
May 23rd, 2007 1:44 pm

Minna and Natoma Alleys between 2nd and New Montgomery Streets are filled with homeless people, debris, filth, and human excrement.  In the heart of the business district, why can't these be kept clean? Robin Wolaner Read This Posty »

There should be an overall beautification of the city
May 21st, 2007 9:48 am

So, first let me start with the fact that we are a family who is going to stay in SF, despite everything that drives families out of the city.  However, we went to Paris for two weeks last year in May and I was shocked at how clean that HUGE city was.  I thought, I should write and ask him how can Paris keeps their streets so clean, when ours are so dirty?  First of all, they had standing metal rings on almost every corner...just a metal frame with plastic bags on them.  People used them and there was street Read This Posty »

Alexandria Theatre on 18th Ave and Geary!
May 21st, 2007 9:39 am

This was closed down 3 years ago and the new owners have let the building fall into a state of disrepair creating a magnet for homelessness, pigeon excrement and graffiti  and has become an eyesore in the Richmond community! Clean up the Tenderloin!
May 21st, 2007 9:39 am

This area is visited by tourists daily, and what a beautiful impression they get of the city.  Not to mention all the children living in the neighborhood that have to look at this everyday!  Open drug use, drug dealing, homelessness, public urination/defecation are a n24 hour issue.  If NYC can clean up 42nd st, why can't we get our downtown neighborhood cleaned up?  I'm sure if the homeless and dealers were filling the streets of Pacific Heights, the problem would be resolved immediately. Resolution:  How about implementing and enforcing loitering laws and posting pictures of drug dealers on the streets?  It Read This Posty »

Homeless connected to OUR social services
May 8th, 2007 2:13 pm

I would prefer that our homeless were less connected to our social services and more connected to the services of the States from which they came. You are only encouraging more and more homeless from other areas of the country to come here with the thoughtful and considerate work you are doing for them. When does it end? We now have 6 homeless encampments on our block (Alabama St bet. Mariposa and 17th Sts.) and the police are afraid to do anything about it for fear that they may be sued by the counsel that represents them. Meanwhile, our children Read This Posty »

Stop the lip service and get the crazies off the streets
May 8th, 2007 1:18 pm

After all of the talk, the Streets of San Francisco are still filthy and dirty, with trash, human waste and smelling of urine.  Every time something new is built, it just becomes another unofficial homeless shelter.  I pay too much in taxes but never get to  enjoy this city.  Those who are mentally ill should be taken off of the streets.  Sometime I actually get scared that one of the really crazies is going to go off.  We could have a "VT" situation one of these days if something more is not done.  Stop the lip service and get those Read This Posty »

Poo on the Sidewalks
May 3rd, 2007 7:30 am

The dog (maybe even human) feces all over the sidewalks, especially in the Nob Hill area. It's disgusting to see how many people let their pets defecate in the MIDDLE of the sidewalk; it's like an obstacle course just walking to the corner. We need to enforce people picking up after their dogs, or even better, create grassy areas on the edges of sidewalks so they can do their business. I see them all over neighborhoods in Los Angeles, and even in Berkeley, and they help make streets look nicer as well. Victor G. Read This Posty »

Regulate Dog Walkers
April 23rd, 2007 11:24 am

This really is a pet peeve.  For-profit "dog walkers" should be regulated by the City and the City should be patrolling dog runs and other areas for-profit "dog walkers" use to ensure such businesses are legitimate, and that the ration of dogs to human is one in which the dogs can actually be under the control of the profiteer (no greater than 4 dogs under the control of one human seems reasonable). Dog walking businesses use the City's parks, open spaces and dog runs as part of their businesses.  Frequently, throughout most days the Walter Haas Park dog run is Read This Posty »

The City
April 8th, 2007 10:05 pm

I would like to know when some public paid official who was voted in by the people is going to get off their behind and and clean up the city??  Including golden gate park.  I was there over the weekend and could not believe what I was seeing....bums everywhere, trash blowing in the street, human fecal matter, and syringes strewn about.  Doubt I will be back anytime soon. SOMA Homeless
April 1st, 2007 4:40 pm

Having to walk to and from work every day up the middle of my SOMA street because both sidewalks are either blocked by homeless encampments or have fresh human excrement and/or vomit on them.  It's disgusting.  We constantly call Southern Station and/or DPW and nothing is ever done.  Also, the moronic tagging of everything - even the new palm trees at Howard and 6th Street.  And the corner stores who sell cheap liquor in brown paper bags, who just add to the homeless problem, by encouraging them to get drunk and often abusive.  I can't wait for 6th Street to Read This Posty »

SF has a long way to go
April 1st, 2007 3:44 pm

I moved here about 2 1/2 years ago and I must say I love this city and do not plan to leave. Mayor Newson has been a great Mayor, but from living in cities like Ft. Lauderdale, Chicago and visiting cities like Miami, and New York, San Francisco has got a long way to go. 1) Muni- I have to say that this cities public transit system is the worst I have ever seen. Nashville Tennessee has a more effiicient system. Mayor Newsom, send some people to New york and Chicago and take a few notes on how to stop illegal Read This Posty »
