The parks in the city are in badly need of repair...filling in the holes in ball playing fields, old swimming pools and changing facilities, antiquated buildings, and lots of garbage. Since our tax dollars go to support so many worthy and higher priority causes, why not seek local corporate support to fix some of these facilities?
We wouldn't have to rename the parks after these companies but we could give them credit and signage. Especially for capital investments in facilities.
A world class city deserves better!

At several of MUNI stations, such as Montgomery, you could walk in with a $5, $10, or $20 bill and not be able to ride the MUNI. Why? Because the human at the gate doesn't take money. The turnstyles only take quarters. And no machines provide appropriate change. If you understand the dark evil genius of the BART machines you can get $1 in quarters from the BART machine (very unintuitive, and no signage about it!)... but that's irrelevant because you can't get $1 bills from your $5, $10, or $20! The so-called change machine for your $10 or $20 Read This Posty »

Apparently there's no law against it or it isn't considered worth enforcing or the penalty isn't enough to matter to the perpetrators. Aside from making where we live ugly, how much does it cost the city or state for that matter, to repair damages? When street signs, park signs, etc. are too covered by graffiti to be readable why bother having them? It's on street signs, houses, fences, mail boxes, telephone poles, 2nd story walls, billboards, awnings, storefronts, cars, trucks, benches, rocks and wherever else you can think of. If you paint over it, they generally do it again within Read This Posty »

Enforce codes prohibiting businesses from placing "A" frame signs on public sidewalks and streets, along with enforcement and maintenance against illegal handbills and graffiti.

South of market on 8th there are 4 lanes, north of Market there are 3, plus a lane created from grove st. kind of converging in. People coming down Hyde st. should have lanes clearly marked as they cross Market St. Right now it's very confusing... or maybe it's just me.

I went in person to pay for a parking ticket. I had a check ready filled out. They would not accept it - told me I had to mail it in...??? Also, some of the street cleaning signs have disappeared - people should NOT get tickets when there are no signs within viewing distance from parking spot

Street name signs are missing or obscured to a degree that has to be a hazard at intersections. When you don't know exactly how to get somewhere, searching frantically for signs in traffic, is dangerous.

The entrance to I-280 at King Street (between 4th and 5th) is unmarked. If you are downtown trying to find parking near the caltrain station, and make the mistake of turning right on King street (from 4th), this right turn is an unmarked entrance to the freeway. Before you know it, you're on 280.

The SFPD giving permission to certain businesses to install and maintain promotional mini-billboards on public property all of which violate local, state and federal codes. The problem with this is that neither the police nor business owners are above the law Right? We all support our police, however we do not support anyone circumventing the law. The job of public officials is to protect and enhance the public right-a-way for all residents, visitors and workers by regulating its use through the rule of law. Surely it is not representing particular special interests or giving away our community property rights Right? Read This Posty »

San Francisco has many streets that have signage which restrict the street to tour buses, tour vans, or vehicle weight. Why is this ordinance not enforced? The signage is there for a reason. If there is no enforcement, why not just remove the signs.

Thanks for offering this forum. Several pet peeves that need attention in this city are:
1. Drug use & related jay walking on 6th street.
2. Exorbitant parking meter rates and excessive time limitations, especially in the Union Square district. Residents are challenged to find limited street parking spaces, yet metered spots go empty during business hours as they have 15, 30, and 60 minute limits that are completely impractical for residents and visitors alike.
3. Unclear or nonexisting signage indicating pet restrictions and allowances in city parks.
