The behavior of the homeless
October 5th, 2007 8:49 am

It has gotten so rude, disgustingly in-your-face, and dirty.  Something has to be done.  I never thought so before.  I do now.  It's too much. Judy Keyes Read This Posty »

Illogical citations
October 5th, 2007 8:47 am

I was fined $150 last month for trash in front of my apartment that I did not place there.  The fine was given without warning and before I was given a chance to pick it up (I never even saw the trash pile before I was cited).  The citation stood up in a hearing.  Don't know if this is the correct forum to air this complaint, but the fine was ridiculous. There needs to be a stronger AND visible police presence
October 5th, 2007 8:46 am

The number of times every day where I see glass from broken out car windows versus the proportion of police officers in the neighborhoods in question, there needs to be a stronger AND visible police presence, crimes will only increase if you do not show the criminals that their actions will lead to convictions. Please put the trash cans back!
October 3rd, 2007 9:18 am

I understand why the city took away many trash cans around certain neighborhoods. However, when you took away all of the cans on Onondoga in front of Balboa High School, you took away opportunities for the already messy high school and middle school students to throw their many empty potato chip bags and soda cans. Additionally, those cans were used by neighbors walking their dogs (and me too) to throw away dog waste. Now some people don't even bother to pick up after their dog. Please put the trash cans back! Leaves left behind
October 2nd, 2007 9:53 am

When street cleaning along the panhandle, the sweepers will sometimes leave a 1/2 car sized pile of leaves behind.  Ben Mullin Read This Posty »

I’ve been almost mowed down several times by cyclists
October 1st, 2007 7:15 am

When will the mayor do something about the law-breaking bikers who ride their bikes on the sidewalk? Why is that tolerated here? I have NEVER seen a bicyclist riding past me that has ever announced that he is there, like I have seen in other cities, by saying "On your left/right." Usually, the biker speeds past me as I feel their clothes whipping me--barely avoiding a near-accident if I had taken one small step to the left. If that person was walking behind me, would they just shove me out of the way? I've also been almost mowed down several Read This Posty »

We need to repave our streets!
September 28th, 2007 9:49 am

The streets in S.F. are worse than a third world country. Drive down any main thoroughfare and you will see what I am talking about. Armando Molina Read This Posty »

Stop the revolving door
September 27th, 2007 7:35 am

I, and many others I'm sure, are extremely frustrated over the City's inability to get criminals off the streets.  I don't know why there is so little cooperation or oversight over the various city/county agencies, but the net result is a revolving door down at 850 Bryant. Someone commits a crime and is arrested by the police.  The police don't arrest someone unless they have probable cause, so there is a pretty good chance the arrestee is guilty. The arrestee then goes into the care of the Sheriff and at that point the cops lose ownership.  Now the Sheriff's office can Read This Posty »

I can’t imagine why we stay at the top of the most visited cities
September 27th, 2007 7:32 am

I am tired of the smell of urine in so many places - garages, parking lots, and most especially, Market Street.  I can't imagine why we stay at the top of the most visited cities.  If I were a tourist, I am not sure I would return. Name Withheld Read This Posty »

SFPD park better
September 25th, 2007 10:46 am

However, when they park or stop for a non-emergency, they should park in a safer spot on the road and not obstruct the lane of traffic and use their hazard lights as a safety caution.  There have been many cases where they stop on corners, or stop a car in one lane and park parallel to the stopped car causing the general traffic to be merge to the next open lane.  They should practice safer parking habits as required with anyone with CDL and not use their 'power' as a police officer to park anywhere and anyway they choose.  The Read This Posty »

People not standing Up for each other
September 25th, 2007 7:37 am

A female friend of mine got mugged at the corner of 16th and Mission. There were people around, but no one lifted a finger or even a cell phone to help her. She was more mad at the bystanders than at her assailant (who she kicked in the crotch and got away from). Thieves and muggers feel they can do this more if people don't stand up for each other!! Not enough home owners and get rid of the homeless
September 24th, 2007 7:53 am

-Increase home ownership.  Ownership stake creates a more caring and attentive community. -Streamline the building permit process.  It shouldn't take a year to add a deck to your house. -Get rid of the homeless.  They do not belong on our otherwise beautiful city. Name Withhled Read This Posty »

I support Universal Health Care for AMERICAN CITIZENS
September 24th, 2007 7:49 am

Not illegal aliens!!! Also I am tired of being approached by homeless people for money. Especially since one of those street bums hit me in the eye when I told him I do not have any money! Before that incident I did give some money to the people on the streets, but not any more. Most of them are addicts and they did that to themselves. Name Withheld Read This Posty »

Open air crack market and smoking den on Geary & Hyde
September 24th, 2007 7:44 am

The southwest corner of Geary and Hyde, which is an open air crack market and smoking den.  I have lived here 10 years and only seen cops walk this beat once.  The problem is obvious to all, but no one does anything about it.  When I try to chase them off, my physical safety is threatened.
