City workers parking their personal cars in the roundabout at the West Portal tunnel entrance- a very dangerous situation when an emergency develops in the tunnel.

Muni drivers getting paid DOUBLE TIME to pass out leaflets on the new T line. This is what happened on one of the Saturday's before the line launched. There were LOTS of these employees handing out the leaflets...they swarmed the train at West Portal. We asked what are they doing? And one of them (a woman) said = with a HUGE grin on her face = Getting Paid Double Time! Enough said. We need someone at the head of Muni who has held a REAL job, not a government job. Please! Where is Willie Brown when you need him? THAT's Read This Posty »

And why was it necessary to post two Muni employees in West Portal to tell people which bus to get on because of the subway construction and yet, at the Muni ticket booth at the foot of Powell Street there is only one of two windows open to sell cable car tickets and other Muni offerings (yet the line was about 30+ people long)? Customer service does not seem to be a very high priority.

Mr. Mayor,
Imagine that after a long, tiring and stressful week you and your family, including your small children, are subjected to the unrelenting pounding and rumbling of trucks and heavy equipment, as well as the continual blaring of construction signals right on your doorstep. The noise begins on Friday evening around 9:00 pm and continues all night long for two full days. Come Sunday evening or early Monday morning, the incessant noise stops. It stops just in time for you to begin yet another work week, and for your children to begin their week at school.

The gas lines near west portal (and other areas of city) are in the process of being replaced. Why can't PG&E replace the overhead power lines at the same time (and add fiber for that matter). They already tore up the streets. It would be so much more beautiful. Are we still in the 1900's..... I would argue that most home owners would even pitch in. What a waste.

It's appalling the number of drivers that endanger the pedestrians and other drivers of our city by making illegal U-turns in intersections. Especially dangerous are drivers that cannot turn west from 19th Avenue and instead, turn right onto Vicente and then make an illegal U-turn to head west. Dangerous because of the large number of St Cecilia school children trying to use the crosswalks there. West Portal is another "accident waiting to happen" site. A single patrol officer could be kept busy all day tagging the scofflaws that endanger the public with illegal U-turns on that busy street.
Thanks for asking,

Mayor Newsom,
I work down on Fremont Street on the swing shift. My schedule lets me off work at 9:30 pm at which point I take Muni to get to my home in the Sunset. Currently, Muni is working on the overhead wires in the tunnel at the time I start my commute home. I understand the importance of this upgrade, but I have a suggestion on how Muni handles the trains that go outbound from the West Portal station on the K, L, and M lines. As background, I take the Castro Shuttle to Van Ness, catch the surface KLM, Read This Posty »

Every time when the M muni line is 30 minutes behind schedule, the first M car that arrives never goes to the end of the line. It always turns around at San Jose and Broad Street and yet the end of the line stop is only about 5 minutes away. All passengers have to get off and wait for another M car to arrive, which is ridiculous. Why can't they just continue to Balboa Park, so people can take Bart from there, especially when there is another M-line heading toward Embarcadero Station and many more prior to that? Why can't Read This Posty »

I am a native San Franciscan and have lived in the Sunset District most of my life. It has changed so much in the past years. The merchants on Taraval Street should keep their property in front of their businesses clean and free of debris. The homeless is another issue. West Portal and Taraval Street are full of them. They sleep by the library and in the driveways of private residences. Should this be allowed? They are allowed on Muni to panhandle.
