I want free WiFi, Mountain View has it
September 25th, 2007 12:18 pm

I dislike the fact that free Wi-Fi is not implemented in the City, Mountain View has it. We should to. By the way, I just graduated from Hoover middle school, you met me at the all start game promotion. Camron Tarassoly Read This Posty »

Problems with Earthlink
July 15th, 2007 7:44 pm

I understand that the city of San Francisco is planning on contracting with EarthLink to provide ISP coverage for citywide WiFi. I request that you re-consider a business relationship with EarthLink. As a consumer, I had a terrible experience with EarthLink recently. The consumer issues associated with my experience were mainly associated with EarthLink's lack of adequate customer service. EarthLink outsources their customer service to a company in India. Although the Indian customer service agents were friendly, they were unable to resolve my problems with EarthLink's service. They also failed to forward me, in a timely manner, to someone at EarthLink's Read This Posty »

No WiFi for Jurors
July 10th, 2007 8:20 pm

I got a summons for jury duty and the information says there is NO free wifi in the juror assembly room. Providing WiFi for jurors should be something the supervisors could agree on. Shauna Read This Posty »

Uncontrollable Halloween Party
June 8th, 2007 10:00 am

Mayor: I am not an advocate for what you call marriage equality (gay marriage). I am not an advocate of the Bay to Breakers Race on Sunday mornings blocking traffic. Please consider having it on Saturdays instead. I am not an advocate for the uncontrollable Halloween Party in the Castro District. I am not an advocate of the Critical Mass (bicyclist) blocking traffic the last Friday of each month. I do however appreciate what you are attempting to do with your other projects of establishing WiFi in the city, Universal Health Care, Getting Muni on time, Services to the Bayview and Hunter's Read This Posty »

MUNI, Potholes and the Homeless
June 4th, 2007 12:11 pm

Muni still SUCKS, the streets are STILL full of potholes and dirty, free WiFi is a joke, the homeless are just more spread out into the outlying areas (away from City Hall) -- you have done very little for the City of San Francisco. Jim Read This Posty »

Indeed, Don’t Let Politics Stop Free WiFi
May 11th, 2007 12:46 pm

I am one of the countless San Francisco citizens who signed the WiFi Petition. I am one of those many citizens who can't get on my own transit system, in particular for me, [it is the N Judah] just blocks from my home because it is not wheel-chair accessible. But because of the internet it allows me to gain access, news, and connects I can't ordinarily do on a daily, yea even weekly basis. I live on a small stipend so every penny for me really counts. Just to know that WiFi may be accessible, and available would be heaven Read This Posty »

WiFi, Not Politics
May 11th, 2007 12:38 pm

AS A LONG TIME (20+YRS) OWNER/MANAGER OF SENIOR & AFFORDABLE HOUSING I KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FREE WI FI PLAN TO THE CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO. I DO NOT FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A "POLITICAL GAME" THAT CHRIS DALY IS NOW PLAYING AT THE EXPENSE OF OUR "LOWER INCOME YOUTH" TRYING TO EXPAND THEIR EDUCATION & THE SENIORS ON FIXED INCOME THAT CAN NOT COMMUNICATE WITH FAMILY MEMBERS TO "BRIGHTEN" THEIR LIFE. THE CITY OWES THIS TO OUR COMMUNITY RESIDENTS AT NO COST TO ANYONE. CONTACT WITH CHRIS DALY WOULD PROVE USELESS AS HE ACTS OUT OF SELFISHNESS AND Read This Posty »

Incredible car burglary problem
April 5th, 2007 8:34 pm

My Pet Peeve is that San Francisco has an incredible car burglary problem. I don't know what the solution is (I am certain it is not easy), however, I think addressing this problem is more important than SF-wide wireless internet access. I strongly believe that safety and security should come before a luxury such as city-wide internet access. One particular alley (Shipley Street between 4th & 5th) is notorious for car break-ins. Our friends who live there have had their car window smashed 3 times (without having any valuables visible in the car), and it seems that every time we come Read This Posty »

Get the WiFi Up
April 3rd, 2007 2:09 pm

I would like to know why it is taking the glorious city by the bay so long to get free wi-fi up and running throughout the city.  I believe that Portland, Oregon was also considering at about the same time we were.  Guess what?  Someone I know from Portland told me they have citywide free wifi up and running throughout their city.  Why can't we get moving on this?  Is this city buried in red tape?  Also, downtown Portland is absolutely beautiful, with no graffiti.  They also don't have any gum or cigarette butts on the sidewalks, either.  Additionally, they Read This Posty »

Fully Staff the Police Dept.
April 3rd, 2007 12:53 pm

How about installing a traffic light at Laguna and Union? That intersection has a lot pedestrian traffic and is a major thoroughfare with the 41 and 45 Muni lines as well as car traffic that connects from Bay Street. In the weekends its nearly gridlocked with pedestrians causing many near misses. And another thing…. How about you actually fund full staffing of the police department? They are clearly outnumbered and crime is soaring in all parts of the city because there is just not enough coverage. Our current charter limit is killing San Franciscans every single day. With the growing homeland Read This Posty »

The homelessness and drug addiction problem
April 1st, 2007 2:36 pm

We need to lobby statewide to legalize drugs so we can take the revenue and the violence out of the illegal drug trade, treat people with addictions, stop wasting court time and taxpayer money on this ridiculous "war against drugs" that is costing us billions of dollars and lives and getting us nowhere. San Francisco needs a new solution that will work, we have a massive and chronic homelessness problem largely fed by drug addiction. Get on it please. Other: Cityswide WiFi would be cool. We need to get going on the new transbay terminal, sort out the high speed train Read This Posty »

Crime Crime Crime
March 16th, 2007 11:57 am

Crime. Crime crime crime. My wife and I are expecting our first child. I've lived in SOMA for 15 years, and owned my home there for the last 8, near 6th and Folsom. The crime rate in SOMA has been on the rise for the past several years (a 15 to 30% increase over the past year alone). On our alley, people regularly sell drugs, coupon tickets to the local porn shop, drink, defecate, urinate, prostitute and leave their used needles and condoms all over the sidewalks. It's a health hazard. You have to walk in the street to avoid them. Trash Read This Posty »
