Mayor Newsom,
We so appreciate the attention the Parks and Recreation Department attention to the badly needed attention South Park needs. The signs prohibiting alcohol are a start. It’s my understanding that Steven Cismowski has communicated the lack of funds in the budget for this fiscal year to do the necessary restoration that would bring the park up to code–as it relates to sand/children’s outdoor apparatus–etc.
It is my hope that monies can be found in this year–or will be put clearly on the budget for 2008. We’ve had such an influx of new SF taxpayers buying homes in the area–It would be nice to see that the city is spending that increase in property tax back into our area.
