Free Parking? I feel it should be mandtory that city employees walk or take MUNI. Sure - there may be exceptions - but if the system is not right for public employees - then why would anyone else want to ride it. To not mandate MUNI use AND to provide free parking is insulting to MUNI and undermines the goals of public transportation.
Make the system good enough so everywant WANTS to ride it.

San Francisco employees should not get free parking. Subsidized for hospital staff, etc, perhaps, but not for municipal administration.
Requiring any employees to take MUNI would be unkind, but forcing SF employees to live in the world inhabited by those they serve - paying for the necessity of reaching their place of employment - would bring a sense of reality to the administration.
Supervisors, on the other hand, should be forced to take public transportation at least once a week.
Whose luxury car is parked every day in the no parking zone by at the West Portal end of the Forest Hill Tunnel?
