Design a permanent gate which could be opened or closed as needed, This would be similar to the gate which closes off Maiden Lane downtown. Half of the gate would be located on the ‘island’ which separates the ingoing and outcoming lanes of traffic. The other parts would be on either side. I think this would be much more aesthetic than the current portable and temporary barriers that are moved each weekend; and would minimize the need for staff to bring parts in and out as needed.
